  • Patent number: 6149567
Abstract: Manufacturing method to make simultaneously two paper containers having a front surface and a rear surface, opposed at their support base by three superimposed strips of paper, the intermediate strip being shaped like a sheath sandwiched between the other two strips on which longitudinal folds are formed which, after the containers are separated, serve as a reinforcement of their support base. The invention also includes the device for implementing the method, as well as the containers thus obtained.

  • Patent number: 6082898
Abstract: The bag is made from a pleated sheet comprising asymmetrical pleats and it comprises a closure consisting of two flaps (26, 27) fixed to each other at their ends which are urged to apply against each other when the pleats of the bag are unfolded forcing the flaps (26, 27) to adopt a concave shape which maintains one against the other without any other linking means.

  • Patent number: 5799863
Abstract: Cup made from a rectangular sheet folded to form a convex base consisting of two isosceles triangles with a common base. The ends of the common base extend into two areas in the shape of deformable lozenges for folding and unfolding the cup while leaving the base flat. When the cup is unfolded by pressing on the edges to draw them together, the ends abut on the edges of the dihedrals forming the cup sides, thereby locking the cup into an open position.

  • Patent number: 5743460
Abstract: The wrapper primarily consists of a flexible thin film bag comprising two faces pleated parallel to the base, the pleats being secured to one another at their ends corresponding to the lateral edges of the bag. The opening of the bag is extended on the side of face by a flap. The opening of the bag is widened by partially unfolding the pleats of faces to form a container enclosing the object to be wrapped. The flap covers the object to be wrapped and its end is wedged between face and the object to be wrapped; then the user only has to pull on the ends, to partially reform the pleats about the object to be wrapped. The bag is useful as a wrapper for enclosing elongated objects such as long sandwiches.

  • Patent number: 5590783
Abstract: A napkin (25) combined with a fast food container is placed on the plane portion (14) of the container and held in place by a sheet (18) which covers all or part of the napkin (25) and which extends beyond the napkin (25) at points permitting its attachment to the portion (14) of the container. This assembly constitutes the plane portion (32) of the container; when the container is being used, the napkin (25) stays in place until the consumer removes it from its housing consisting of the sheets (14) and (18) before eating. This concept is applicable to various existing containers.

  • Patent number: 5580625
Abstract: A receptacle for various objects including food stuff is formed from a pleated sheet folded over itself to form a pouch with a mouth. The volume of the pouch may be expanded by pulling its corners apart, urging the sides of the pouch mouth together. In another variation, the pouch is formed of one section and a folded pleated section is deployed about the first section to form a cap.

  • Patent number: 5518167
Abstract: Wrapping for convex or similar bodies, made from a thin sheet, consisting of symmetrical folds, from which there are obtained, by folding, changes in direction making it possible to approximate, as best as possible, the profile to be wrapped and the folds of which are fastened at their ends. In order to change the direction of the folds, each rectangular strip (9 ) is folded on itself along an oblique line (12) enabling the internal (10) and external (11) arrises to be inverted in order to become, respectively, external arrises (13) and (14), the angle (15) formed by the oblique folding line (12) and the internal (10) and external (11) arrises determining the variation in the direction of the folds.

  • Patent number: 5364016
Abstract: A wrapper is formed of a semi-rigid section is fixed to a pleated section made of a thin flexible sheet. The semi-rigid unpleated section is folded to form a cavity for containing loose products. The pleated section is deployed around the cavity to form a self-closing wrapper. After opening the wrapper the products may be consumed from either section. The wrapper is particularly suited for french fries or pizza pies.

  • Patent number: 5201697
Abstract: Wrappings from thin pleated sheets are made from a continuous thin paper tape and the like by first making transversal folds in the tapes to form pleats, fixing the edges of the pleats and then folding the fixed edges to form hems. The hemmed pleated tape may then be cut into individual wrappings. The paper tape is coated with heat-setting material so that the pleats can be fixed by melting and resetting this material.

  • Patent number: 5188265
Abstract: The device includes a toothed wheel on which pleats of a sheet 10 are preformed, in some cases with the aid of a second toothed wheel 31, and a device for holding by a vacuum; then the preformed pleats are transferred to a pleat gathering wheel 13 either directly or through the medium of a pleat pressing wheel, where they are laid down then fixed to form a pleated sheet 23. The toothed wheels 5 and 31 and the pleat pressing wheel and/or the pleat gathering wheel 13 can be arranged to produce areas with no pleats at regular intervals.

  • Patent number: 5131586
Abstract: A packaging for wrapping objects, such as hamburgers, tacos and other foodstuff includes a pleated zone which expands when pulled longitudinally, and an unpleated, or straight zone which is used originally to wrap the object. The packaging is easier to use than packaging having only a pleated zone.

  • Patent number: 5125564
Abstract: A wrapping for arbitrary objects is formed of a pleated sheet having sides disposed along curves of various shapes. A tape may be attached to the sheet for fixing the pleats and for closing the end openings formed when the sheet is trained around the object. The pleats may increase in size as they progress from one lateral edge to the other.

  • Patent number: 4989875
Abstract: Die containing eight planar hexagonal surfaces and six convex portions capable of producing random results when thrown. The convex faces are dimensioned so as to constitute areas of unstable equilibrium to favor positioning of the die on one of the hexagonal surfaces when so thrown. The die can be marked with card values and suits associated with a deck of playing cards whereby a set containing the marked dice can be utilized to play poker card games. Moreover, the card values and suits can be positioned on the dice so that marking of the dice can be performed in a two pass printing process.

  • Patent number: 4795648
Abstract: A sandwich wrapper is formed from a substantially rectangular sheet by providing a plurality of overlapping folds which are positioned into a substantially pleated arrangement. Two substantially parallel lines of adhesive, glue, or adhesive tape are used to attach spaced apart zones of the folded areas to each other. The dimensions of the sheet with respect to an article to be wrapped, spacing between the adhesive lines, and dimensions of the fold can be calculated to provide an efficient and cost-effective food wrapper.
