  • Patent number: 8630293
Abstract: A solar collector controller that can process solar field control commands can include a network interface that can receive a variable-length data packet with a collector controller. The collector controller can control one or more solar collectors. In addition, the variable-length data packet can include a header segment identifying a command to be performed by the collector controller and a data segment having one or more parameters associated with the command. The data segment can have a length that depends on a type of the command. Moreover, the solar collector controller can include a processor that can execute the command in response to receiving the data packet.

  • Publication number: 20120323319
Abstract: The invention relates to an intracorneal diffractive lens having phase inversion, said intracorneal diffractive lens including: a core (2) having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface; at least one first hydrogel layer (5) extending over the first surface of the core; and a second hydrogel layer (6) extending over the second surface of the core. The first hydrogel layer (5) includes, on the surface thereof turned toward the core, a plurality of concentrically or coaxially projecting annular areas (7), each annular area (7) having a continuously varying thickness toward the periphery of the lens. The first and second layers (5, 6) have a nutrient and oxygen permeability substantially identical to that of the corneal tissue, and at least one of the annular areas (7) of the first layer (5) is in contact with the second hydrogel layer (6).

  • Publication number: 20110153087
Abstract: A system for causing a solar collector to track the sun can include a collector controller that can control one or more solar collectors in a solar field, where the collector controller has one or more processors. The collector controller can estimate a sun angle, determine an angle of the one or more solar collectors with respect to the sun based at least partly on an inclination angle of the one or more solar collectors, and compare the estimated sun angle with the angle of the one or more solar collectors to determine a desired movement of the one or more solar collectors. Further, the collector controller can actuate the motor to effectuate the desired movement until the angle of the one or more solar collectors is within a hysteresis value within a virtual track deadband.

  • Publication number: 20110153095
Abstract: A system for controlling a solar field can include a field control server that communicate with a plurality of solar collector controllers installed in a solar field. The field control server can include one or more processors that can implement a user interface module that can provide a solar field user interface having a plurality of user interface controls. Each of the user interface controls can represent one or more solar collector assemblies. User selection of one of the user interface controls can cause the field control server to send a command to one or more collector controllers associated with the selected one or more solar collector assemblies. Further, the system can include a customization module that can provide functionality for a user to customize the solar field user interface to accommodate changes in a number of the solar collector controllers installed in the solar field.

  • Publication number: 20110046727
Abstract: The invention relates to a lens that can be implanted in the cornea for correcting vision defects, such as presbyopia. It consists of a zonal diffractive lens with phase inversion that comprises an alternation of optically active or “full” annular areas (2) and of optically inactive or empty annular areas (3) which are all concentric. The empty annular areas (3) are filled with an optically inactive “cement” that binds together the “full” annular areas (2) in order to ensure the stability thereof. The cement is a hydrogel pervious to nutrients and oxygen having an optical index close to that of the cornea.

  • Patent number: 5318858
Abstract: This invention is concerned with a novel antacid composition, said composition comprising, in association with a physiologically acceptable excipient, a pharmaceutically effective amount of a mixture of(a) an Al-containing material which normally adheres to the gastrointestinal mucous membrane, as a first pharmaceutically active component, and(b) a Mg-containing material which normally does not adhere to the gastrointestinal mucous membrane, as a second pharmaceutically active component, wherein the weight ratio of Al in said Al-containing material to Mg in said Mg-containing material is 5.1:1 to 7.0:1.Said composition is particularly useful in the treatment of dyspepsia.
