  • Patent number: 4159596
Abstract: A means and method for the self-pollination of corn wherein a single bag structure is utilized. The bag comprises an elongated tubular member. The upper end of the bag is configured such that it may be located and closed about a corn plant tassel. The lower end of the bag is adapted to receive an ear shoot of the corn plant. The bag is mounted on the corn plant before any ear shoot silk is exposed and remains in place until harvest. The bag concentrates the pollen from the corn plant tassel on the earliest to the latest ear shoot silk to produce a well filled ear of high inbred purity and yield.
