  • Patent number: 5242976
Abstract: A composition is provided which is coextrudable with vinylidene polyfluoride permitting it to adhere to incompatible polymeric resins, the composition which has a base of an alkyl polymethacrylate and a thermoplastic polymer is comprised of:from 27 to 50 parts by weight of an alkyl polymethacrylate; andfrom 73 to 50 parts by weight of an additive itself constituted for 100 portions by weight of additive of:from 35 to 50 parts by weight of PVDF, andfrom 65 to 50 parts by weight of acrylic or methacrylic elastomer. This composition serves to produce vinylidene polyfluoride compounds capable of coating polymers which are non-compatible with vinylidene polyfluoride. When used as an adhesion agent, one can obtain by coextrusion, compounds of vinylidene polyfluoride and polymers non-compatible with the vinylidene polyfluoride.

  • Patent number: 5112692
Abstract: A composite material comprising a polyvinylidene fluoride layer, a substrate of a material that does not adhere to polyvinylidene fluoride, and an intermediate layer between said fluoride layer and substrate comprising a blend of polyvinylidene fluoride and a polymer containing carbonyl groups, ##STR1## in its polymer chain; the subject blend, and the process of treating a surface to adhere polyvinylidene fluoride thereto.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 11, 1990
Date of Patent: May 12, 1992
    Assignee: Atochem
    Inventors: Albert Strassel, Gilbert Duperray
  • Patent number: 5019444
Abstract: A polyvinylidene fluoride product having at least one surface with improved adhesion to an incompatible polymer, said at least one surface covered with a porous polyvinylidene fluoride layer adhered thereto without a bonding intermediate, the process of forming the polyvinylidene fluoride product, and laminates thereof with non-adherent polymers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 5, 1989
Date of Patent: May 28, 1991
    Assignee: Atochem
    Inventors: Gilbert Duperray, Daniel Wolff
  • Patent number: 4267237
Abstract: Molded preformed polytetrafluoroethylene structures are comprised of at least one preformed section. The homogeneous PTFE section yields a unitary non-homogeneous polytetrafluoroethylene structure when isostatically molded together with either polytetrafluoroethylene powders or polytetrafluoroethylene preformed sections.
