  • Patent number: 6447433
Abstract: A weight-bar support structure is disclosed. The structure includes a user supporting platform or seat and two spaced apart posts. The first end of a weight-bar supporting arm is connected to a lug extending from each post. A second end of each arm includes a weight-bar supporting cradle and an upwardly extending guide. The arms are moveable from a retracted position to a user lift-off position. A spring having a first end connected to the arm and a second end located in a slot in the lug biases each arm, when a weight laden bar is removed therefrom, from the lift-off to the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 5669860
Abstract: An exercise device for use by an exerciser in exercising his back muscles includes a frame, waist support, leg stop, and weight carriage. The frame comprises a ground contacting base and front and rear frame members. The waist support is located on top of the front frame member and the leg stop is located on the bottom of the rear frame member. The weight carriage is rotatably mounted to the frame, and includes a carriage frame, weight supporting bars, and a handle. The carriage is movable between a first resting position in which it extends downwardly from the front frame member to a second extended position in which it extends generally horizontally out from the front frame member.

  • Patent number: 5653667
Abstract: An exercise machine for use in exercising a user's calf muscles includes a frame having a ground-contacting support, first and second spaced-apart knee-engaging pads which are movable in a vertical plane, a seat, and springs resisting the upward movement of the pads. The pads are each located at the end of a lever arm which is rotatably mounted to the frame at an opposite end. The springs are mounted on slidable sleeves, allowing a user to adjust the resistive force. A handle engages each arm and is movable between a first position in which the arm is in a raised, locked position, to a second position in which the pad engages the knee of the exerciser. A user places the balls of his feet on a platform and presses the pads upwardly with his knees against the springs to exercise his calf muscles.
