  • Patent number: 6932532
Abstract: A fluid applicator includes a coating implement, an elastic closure cap, and a stopper for use with a fluid container. The elastic closure cap includes an enlarged irregular sealing rib on a skirt that is force-fit into the stopper, creating a resilient force on a sealing lip that contacts a seat on the stopper. Inverting the container and pressing on the coating implement, presses the elastic closure cap, deforming it to move the sealing lip off of its seat on the stopper to allow fluid flow from the container, through the stopper and elastic closure cap, to the coating implement.

  • Publication number: 20040089677
Abstract: Particles are discharged from a dispenser by pressing on a non-rotatable plunger attached to a helical spring. The linear motion of the plunger on the upper portion of the helical spring is converted to a rotary motion at the lower portion of the helical spring that is attached to an apertured plate. Rotation of the apertured plate causes openings in the dispenser base to aline with apertures in the plate to discharge particles. The amount of rotation of the plate and discharge can be adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20030026642
Abstract: A writing instrument cap has a tubular lower section, a tapered intermediate section, and a domed upper section. The domed upper section includes a dome, that provides a pocket for a writing or coating means, and a platform, for supporting the dome and providing a sealing surface for an applicator. The tubular lower section provides for attachment to a container. The intermediate tapered section connects the dome section to the tubular section and is provided with plural openings or slots for air passage through the lower section and around and past the dome section.

  • Patent number: 6409406
Abstract: An applicator is provided with a flexible container, a discharge passage, a valve seat, and internal springs having first ends attached to one end of a rod that has a valve on its other end. The second ends of the leaf spring are secured to the container. The springs are in an arcuate configuration so as to press the valve into a closed position. Pressure on the flexible container presses on the arcuate shaped springs, straightening them to some degree. Due to the longitudinal increase in the length of the springs, the valve is lifted off of its seat, opening a passage for fluid flow from the container interior through the discharge passage of the applicator nib or pad.

  • Patent number: 6402413
Abstract: A fluid applicator includes a coating implement, a resilient closure cap, and a stopper for use with a fluid container. The resilient closure cap is force-fit into or onto the stopper, creating a resilient force on a sealing lip that contacts a seat on the stopper. Inverting the container and pressing on the coating implement, presses the resilient closure cap, deforming it to move the sealing lip off of its seat on the stopper, to allow fluid flow from the container, through the stopper and resilient closure cap, to the coating implement.

  • Patent number: 4693623
Abstract: A pressure-responsive valve exhibiting unusual restoring force includes an elastically deformable diaphragm having a plurality of non-intersecting, non-meeting, separate arcuate slits, each slit having a base which is intersected by at least one other slit, and each slit being out of intersecting relation with its own base.

  • Patent number: 4569612
Abstract: A liquid applicator includes a generally cylindrical container having an open neck end. A flexible bag adapted to hold a liquid to be applied is disposed within the container with the open mouth of the bag located within the open neck of the container. A valve assembly is situated in the open neck of the container to control the flow of liquid from the bag through the open container neck. A dauber tip of porous material is located at the exterior of the open container neck for receiving liquid flowing through the valve assembly and applying the liquid to an object.

  • Patent number: 4402693
Abstract: A medicated device comprises a substantially cylindrical, hollow body member having radially outwardly extending annular ridges at each end, a lengthwise slot, and inwardly extending flanges along the edges of the slot which have concave facing surfaces. A multi-layer, drug-bearing sheet material extends around the cylindrical member between and adjacent the annular ridges and has edge portions which extend into the slot. A cylindrical rod is disposed between the concave surfaces to clamp the sheet edge portions in the slot against the concave surfaces. End caps are mounted on each end of the cylindrical member, and each has a radially inwardly extending ridge which presses an adjacent edge of the sheet material against the cylindrical member.
