    Abstract: This invention relates to an improved parenteral composition for the treatment of acidosis in mammals which comprises a mixture of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate with a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent. The invention also encompasses the method of treating the acidotic condition which comprises the parenteral administration of the composition described above.
