  • Publication number: 20230259853
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for calculating risk is provided. The method comprises receiving, at a first time, respective deterministic values for a number of factors. Over an evolution time interval starting at the first time, respective stochastic quantum values are generated for each factor from the deterministic values. Each factor is represented by a respective N-qubit quantum circuit, wherein each qubit represents a risk level. The quantum values for the factors are combined into an intermediate quantum risk value at a second time at the end of the evolution time interval. The intermediate quantum risk value according is then modified to a number of classical parameters, and a final stochastic quantum risk value at the second time is generated from the modified intermediate quantum risk value.

  • Publication number: 20230051447
Abstract: A method of rating credit risk is provided. The method comprises calculating a number of credit risk factors associated with a financial instrument, wherein each credit risk factor is calculated iteratively at a first timestep as a discrete probabilistic wave function representing a superposition state of scores. The discrete probabilistic wave function of each credit risk factor is measured after each calculation iteration for the first timestep. The probabilistic wave functions of the credit risk factors are then linearly combined to calculate a discrete probabilistic wave function for a final credit rating of the financial instrument for the first timestep, which is displayed in a user interface. The above steps are repeated for a second timestep using the probabilistic wave functions of the credit risk factors at the first timestep as initial states for the second timestep.

  • Patent number: 10372973
Abstract: This invention provides a method of face recognition and a device for implementing said method, the method comprising the steps of: (a) performing a face recognition algorithm on an image of a user to determine an identity of the user, the image having an illumination level; (b) determining if a reliability measurement of the identity of the user determined by the face recognition algorithm meets a threshold indicating reliable identification and, if the reliability measurement is below the threshold indicating reliable identification; (c) receiving a new image of the user, the new image having an adjusted illumination level; and (d) performing a further face recognition algorithm on the new image of the user to determine the identity of the user.

  • Patent number: 8078487
Abstract: An interactive workflow schedule optimizer arranged to enable a user to reconfigure an instantiated workflow for a task comprising a plurality of actions having a predetermined dependency relationship to each other. The optimizer comprises means to input one or more user-specified constraint conditions into the workflow schedule optimizer; means to regenerate a workflow dependent on user specified condition from the instantiated workflow, the regenerated workflow satisfying said one or more user-specified constraint conditions. The optimizer optimises the global utilisation of the resources required to fulfil the user request by processing in parallel the resource requirements of each of said plurality of actions required by the regenerated workflow.

  • Publication number: 20110035381
Abstract: A method, and associated apparatus, that allows online posts to be automatically analysed and classified such that they can then be appropriately monitored or actioned. The classification method comprises analysis of the contents of the online posts, for example keyword extraction, the affinity of one poster to comment on the posts of a further poster and the relationship between one poster and their posts with other posters and their posts.
