  • Patent number: 11860005
Abstract: The position detector of an object includes a body defining an input receiving an optical fibre delivering a light signal, and an output delivering a signal representative of the position of the object. A mirror is mounted to move between first and second positions in the body with respect to the input. The first position or the second position ensures transmission of the light signal from the input to the output. The other of the first position and the second position prevents transmission of the light signal to the output. A spring is mounted in the body in order to place the mirror in the first position. A tip is movable relative to the body between a first position and a second position along a direction of movement and is intended to cooperate with the object to be monitored.

  • Publication number: 20220227400
Abstract: The cable transportation installation includes a cable supported by several sheaves of several pillars. At least one pillar is provided with at least one optical fuse defining first and second states enabling or preventing flow of an optical signal. A detection device is configured to detect derailment of the cable from one of the sheaves. The detection device makes a signal flow through the optical fuses to monitor their state. The optical fuses are configured to change state between the first state and the second state when the at least one optical fuse comes into contact with the cable or with one of its supports. The detection device emits an alarm in response to detection of a change of state of one of the optical fuses. Each optical fuse includes an optical fibre.

  • Publication number: 20050041936
Abstract: The optical interconnection module (1) between a fiber (2) and an electro-optical component (3) comprises a body (5) made of transparent plastic material, wherein one end of the fiber is held. The component (3) is arranged at least partially in a cavity (6) of the module. Positioning of the end of the fiber with respect to the component is performed by plastic deformation of the body (5) of the module caused by localized heating of the body (5). The heated part of the body can be formed by a thin annular wall bounding, at the top part of a non-deformable central part of the body, the cavity wherein the electro-optical component (3) is positioned. An insert (7) made of ferromagnetic material arranged in an intermediate zone of the body of the module, between the end of the fiber and the electro-optical component, can also enable deformation of the body (5) when heated by induction.

  • Publication number: 20030011845
Abstract: The invention concerns a wavelength multiplexing optical fiber transmission device comprising multiplexing means with optical combiner (16) consisting of a series of n optical couplers CO1, CO2, CO7 with asymmetric cascade distribution over several stages A, B, C for combining the optical signals received from the optical transmitters (14) of different wavelengths (&lgr;1 to &lgr;8). The last coupler CO7 routes the multiplexed optical signals to a main transmission line (18) and a standby transmission line (20). The coupling ratio of the various couplers is adjusted at the channels to compensate spectral gain variation of the optical amplifier (26), which is arranged on the receiver side before the optical demultiplexer (28). The invention is applicable to metropolitan area telecommunication networks.

  • Patent number: 6244869
Abstract: A frame for a removable dental prosthesis has a base part having a layer of woven fabrics of a composite material, which is arranged as a support shell in the form of an arch designed to cover at least a part of the patient's jaw. An intermediate part extends along the top of the base part to form a beam having a good crushing strength, and forming the limits of the section of the frame. A surface part forms a cap totally covering the base part and intermediate part, the material of the cap being formed by a laminated fiber reinforcement material having an organic matrix of the same nature as that of the base part. The assembly, made up of the base part, the intermediate part and the surface part form, after shaping and polymerization, a self-supporting profiled part having a good breaking resistance.

  • Patent number: 6183253
Abstract: The invention concerns an insert for filling the dental canal comprising means for anatomically and physiologically filling up the root canal 1, comprising a ductile and resilient core 10 made of a polymerised composite material, sheathed in one or several sleeves 14, 15 made of a composite material pre-impregnated with resin, being in a first pasty state previous to polymerisation so as to make the insert flexible and malleable before and during its introduction into the root canal 1. Said material is then polymerized at will by cross-linking means to be in a second polymerized state after the insert has been introduced in said canal. The upper part 17 of the insert which emerges from the root canal 1, can advantageously be used as prop or pivot for a coronal reconstitution. Thus, the same material is used for filling the root canal and for reinforcing the residual structures of the tooth. The canal obturator and the anchoring pivot are made of one and the same material.

  • Patent number: 5871359
Abstract: A crown-and-root reconstruction assembly made of a composite materials with a modulus of elasticity varying along a gradient. The assembly comprises a physiological securing post (4) and a crown reconstruction base (1) made of partially or completely light-conducting material. The connection between the crown reconstruction base (1) and the post (4) is achieved by polymerising the material of the base under an isostatic charge. The forming process may be completed by manipulating the material with the fingers through a forming membrane (22) to prevent any gap developing at the interface (10) between the root (8) and the crown reconstruction base (1). A helical arrangement of the fibers (5) of the post (4) ensures that the modulus of elasticity is close to that of the natural dentine, regardless of the angle of incidence at the reconstruction is stressed.

  • Patent number: 4496919
Abstract: A relay for switching of ultra high frequency circuits has three spaced-apart coaxial type contacts including a central or common contact. Two contact blades are disposed in opposed relation to the coaxial contact for alternate movement from a first position in which one rigid contact engages the central coaxial contact and one side contact while the other rigid contact is grounded, and a second position in which the other rigid contact engages the central contact and another coaxial contact and the first rigid contact is grounded. Pusher elements connected to the respective rigid contacts are connected to opposite sides of a leaf spring supported at its center. A pivotal armature alternately presses on one end or the other of a leaf spring to drive one rigid contact against its two coaxial contacts and to permit the other end of the leaf spring to pull the other rigid contact into engagement with the ground plane.
