  • Patent number: 5306434
Abstract: Hair care compositions are provided in which a silicone oil is dispersed in water by the action of a diquaternary polydimethylsiloxane. Polyvinylpyrrolidone may be included as a co-dispersant/stabilizer. The dispersed silicone oil combination is useful in hair conditioner formulations.

  • Patent number: 4686065
Abstract: Disclosed is a cleaning composition for removing baked on soils from hard surfaces. The composition comprises an alkali metal hydroxide, and a solvent system made up of tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol together with a propoxylated alcohol or phenol and a thickener to provide a composition having a suitable viscosity for its intended use.

  • Patent number: 4675127
Abstract: Particulate detergent compositions are prepared by (a) forming an aqueous crutcher slurry having a total solids content of from about 40 to about 80 weight percent on a total weight basis and comprising a surfactant ingredient, al least about 0.1 weight percent (surfactant weight basis) of which is a glycoside surfactant; a builder ingredient; water; and, optionally, a filler ingredient and (b) thereafter drying said aqueous crutcher slurry. In an especially preferred embodiment, the glycoside surfactant is employed as an additive in a relatively small but effective amount (i.e., corresponding to less than about 2 weight percent on a dry solids weight basis) to provide reduced viscosity and/or enhanced homogeneity to the crutcher slurry compositions of interest.

  • Patent number: 4477365
Abstract: Disclosed is a caustic based aqueous cleaning composition which is particularly suitable for use in cleaning soiled ovens. The composition, which has a viscosity of 200-2,000 centipoise at room temperature, comprises an alkali metal hydroxide, a fatty acid substituted betaine, a long-chain alpha olefin sulfonate and a hydrotropic agent.
