  • Patent number: 6382990
Abstract: The invention provides for an electrical connection socket including an insulating block comprising a central protuberance. A plurality of peripheral contact housings are arranged in the insulating block. Each peripheral contact housing includes an electrical contact. Each peripheral contact is adapted to mate with a corresponding pin when the electrical connection socket is coupled to an electrical connection plug. A safety disk is provided having a central opening and at least a same number of peripheral through openings as there are electrical contacts. The central opening of the safety disk is adapted to receive at least a portion of the central protuberance of the insulating block. The safety disk is rotatably mounted to the insulating block so as to form explosive proof joint between at least two surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6302726
Abstract: Mechanism for identifying the operating voltage of an electrical connection component mounted on a support. The electrical connection component and the support each comprise a first color and having an outside peripheral interface surface. At least one ring comprises a second color and an outside peripheral surface, the at least one ring being adapted to be inserted between the electrical connection component and the support. The outside peripheral surface is as large as or greater than the outside peripheral interface surface of one of the electrical connection component and the support. At least part of the outside peripheral surface of the at least one ring is visible when the electrical connection component is coupled to the support. The first color is different from the second color.

  • Patent number: 5697798
Abstract: A socket provided with a plurality of peripherally arranged contacts for electrically connecting with a plug. The socket has a centrally located housing containing a central contact. A security disc, made of an insulating material, is arranged to be rotated upon insertion of the plug into the socket. An obturator is proved within the socket to cover the central contact. A mechanism is provided to connect the security disc to the obturator which rotates the obturator from an initial position where the peripheral and central contacts are covered, to a final position where the peripheral and central contacts are uncovered.

  • Patent number: 5234350
Abstract: Selective device for electrical connection is provided with a plug with multiple contacts designed to engage with the corresponding contacts of a socket, while a safety disk and a complementary disk mounted pivotally on the socket are provided with openings designed for passage of the contacts of the plug and are arranged so as to be entrained in rotation by the plug when the latter is locked on the socket from an initial position which is locked by a locking system that is disengaged when the plug is introduced into the socket. The locking system only acts on the complementary disk while a locking mechanism is provided between the complementary disk and the safety disk in order that the safety disk can be locked in a plurality of pre-established angular positions relative to the complementary disk so that the safety disk can be given an initial position at will by acting on the locking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4176905
Abstract: An electrical contact having a base and an axially aligned reciprocable head connected to the base by a flexible cable constructed from a plurality of strands made from thin filamentary wires. The strands are twisted in the opposite direction to the thin filamentary wires and are subsequently plaited to form the cable. A helical spring surrounds and preloads the flexible cable and urges the contact pad into engagement with an electrical element.

  • Patent number: 4140358
Abstract: Electrical connectors comprising complementally formed plug and socket elements each of which include safety disks to conceal the contacts the plug and socket elements further having pilot contacts and power contacts as well as mating means arranged to delay the separation of the power contacts and interlock means for the respective elements capable of temporarily immobilizing the plug and power socket elements to provide a power cut-off for electrical engagement of said elements.

  • Patent number: 3984170
Abstract: An electrical equipment terminal or connecting member is designed to clamp and lock elastically the bared end of a supply or distribution cable. It comprises a cylindrical core with constant cross-section, an elastic ring of cross-section conjugate with that of said core and adapted to encircle the core, and a clamping screw engaged in a diametric tapping of the core after having traversed a conjugate opening of the ring. A longitudinal cavity of the core starting from its side opposite the tapping and whose plane of symmetry passes through the axis of the tapping defines with a portion of the inner surface of the ring, a housing to conductively contact the bared end of the cable. The elements are all of cupriferous metal. The invention is especially advantageous in an electrical end pressure contact connector.

  • Patent number: 3982808
Abstract: A connector for connecting two lengths of electric cable, especially of h current capabilities, comprising a male terminal or plug, traversed by a pin, and a female terminal or socket carrying a sleeve freely rotatable thereon but resiliently urged longitudinally toward the end of the socket by a resilient means on the socket. When inserted in the socket, the contacting surfaces on both plug and socket are positively engaged and a rotation of the sleeve further interlocks the pin and sleeve by increasing the resilient load of the resilient means by a slight relative longitudinal displacement of the sleeve resulting from the rotation thereof. This connector ensures a highly efficient electrical contact between the cable ends and eliminates all risk of accidental disconnection.

  • Patent number: 3982804
Abstract: The selective connection device has a safety disc and a complementary disc pivotally mounted on the socket coaxially with the safety disc and displaceable in rotational motion at the same time as the safety disc between the initial position and the final connection position. The complementary disc has a number of openings corresponding to the number of contact locations on the socket and distributed in the same manner. The relative angular position of the socket and of the complementary disc is such that the openings come opposite to the contact locations in the final position.
