Abstract: A system and method for conducting a dialogue-based search is disclosed. A request for conducting a search for a user is received, and a first intent of the user is classified based on the request. An initial set of information from a knowledge base is identified based on the classified intent. The initial set of information is classified based on at least one criterion, and a question is generated based on the at least one criterion. A response to the question is received from the user, and a second intent of the user is classified based on the response. A subset of the initial set of information is selected based on at least the classified second intent, and an output is provided based on the selected subset.
