  • Publication number: 20200032369
Abstract: A method of operating a pelletizing plant for additional treatment of iron making, steelmaking and pellet plant residues, the plant including an indurating furnace in which green pellets are charged and fired to produce hard pellets, where the method includes: preparing iron ore green pellets; and charging and firing said green pellets in an indurating furnace, such that agglomerates of by-products are charged and fired with the green pellets in the indurating furnace, thereby producing hardened pellets and hardened agglomerates of by-products; a pelletizing plant is also presented including a pelletizing section, an indurating furnace, an agglomerating section for producing agglomerates of by-products, where a feeding arrangement is configured to charge agglomerates of by-products into said indurating furnace, together with the green pellets.

  • Patent number: 9144843
Abstract: Dust emissions can be reduced in a metal or slag casting apparatus by providing an endless conveyor having a plurality of casting molds with upper open tops wherein the conveyor is arranged to move the casting molds in a first section from a casting station to a discharge station and in a second section back to the casting station. The method for reducing dust emissions includes (a) providing a casing forming a bottomless box over at least part of the first section of the conveyor, (b) injecting within the casing a gas on the surface of the mold with an angle configured to blow off loose, solid particles, formed at the surface of the metal, during early stages of the cooling down and to start the solidification of a superficial layer of metal or slag, and (c) extracting the gas and the solid particles by suction from within the casing.

  • Publication number: 20140331515
Abstract: A method for reducing dust emissions in a metal or slag casting apparatus, as well as a metal or slag casting apparatus allowing reducing dust emissions, comprising an endless conveyor having a plurality of casting moulds with upper open tops and which endless conveyor is arranged to move said casting moulds in a first section from a casting station to to the casting station, the method comprising (a) providing a casing forming a bottomless box over at least part of the first section of the endless conveyor, (b) injecting within said casing a gas on the surface of the mould with an angle sufficient to blow off loose, solid particles, such as graphite flakes, formed at the surface of the metal, during early stages of the cooling down and to start the solidification of a superficial layer of metal or slag, (c) extracting the gas and the solid particles by suction from within said casing.
