The text messages are created with a standard keyboard and transmitted via the computing device's wireless port or a wired port to a user's cell phone for sending to the recipient(s) using telephony standards such as Global System for Mobile communications (GSM). The system provides an “off-line” solution where the user does not have to be connected to a network. Interfaces are provided for users to enter the destination number, to select a port from available ports, enter the text, and select options.
