  • Patent number: 8240697
Abstract: A gliding board including a primary core positioned between a lower sub-assembly and an upper sub-assembly, the upper sub-assembly and the lower sub-assembly including at least one first upper reinforcement and one first lower reinforcement, respectively, extending longitudinally over at least two thirds of the length of the gliding board, and further including a frictional damping arrangement. The damping arrangement includes a blade having a thickness of less than 2 mm and a structure that enables the sliding of at least one of the ends of the blade. The damping arrangement is positioned between the first lower reinforcement and the first upper reinforcement, and the distance separating the damping arrangement from the first upper reinforcement, or from the first lower reinforcement can range, for example, between 0 mm and four times the thickness of the blade.

  • Patent number: 8172250
Abstract: A ski including a structural unit, gliding structure, as well as a decorative and protective structure. The structural unit includes at least one lower reinforcement, at least one upper reinforcement, and an intermediate structure, or core, positioned between the upper reinforcement and the lower reinforcement. The ski has a longitudinally extending cambered shape such that, when the gliding structure is positioned on a flat surface, the ski rests on a shovel contact point and a tail contact point. The ski further includes a tension structure that exerts a tension force between a first anchoring, positioned longitudinally beyond the shovel contact zone, and a second anchoring, positioned on rearward of the shovel contact zone. The tension structure is positioned for most of its length beneath the decorative and protective structure, such tension structure being positioned for most of its length above the neutral axis of the ski, such as above the upper reinforcement.

  • Patent number: 6631918
Abstract: An alpine including a longitudinal beam having front and rear ends and a central zone, the beam being formed by a main core covering a running surface, a stack of gliding and reinforcing layers with two lateral running edges, the core itself being covered by a stack of reinforcing, and possibly decorating layers. In the central zone, a secondary core is superposed on the main core so as to form, in this central zone, a projecting rib having a reduced width. An interface with a plate for supporting the retaining elements is provided to be assembled to the ski by journals.

  • Patent number: 6244616
Abstract: An interface device including a rear wedge and a front wedge connected by a link. The front zone of the rear wedge is integrally connected to the ski. The front wedge is mounted to float on a plate. The front wedge and the plate cooperate by means of inclined surfaces. An elastically deformable cushion is inserted between the front wedge and plate. The link is attached to the rear wedge by a fold pressing against the surface of a housing of the wedge. In the front, the link is attached by a screw-nut system adjustable in length along the link and engaged in a housing of the wedge.

  • Patent number: 6217055
Abstract: A ski in the form of an elongate beam extending in a longitudinal direction and having a sole, an upper surface and lateral edges. In a central part, the ski is overhung by a raised rigid platform, the platform having, in an upper part, mounting zones provided for the boot retaining elements. The platform of the ski has a front plate and a rear plate which have, in their lower part, lateral side edges with support surfaces. Further, beneath the level of the upper surface of the ski, the ski has bottom surfaces located opposite the support surfaces, and the support surfaces and the bottom surfaces are predetermined such that when the ski is at rest, the platform bears on the ski in the area of the median part of the platform. Further, the distance between each support surface and its bottom surface progressively increases in the direction of the ends of the plates, such that the surfaces progressively enter into contact with one another as the ski bends.

  • Patent number: 6193262
Abstract: An interface device between a boot and a ski including a front platform and a rear platform. The front and rear platforms have adjacent ends located near one another between the mounting zones of the front and rear retention elements, wherein at least one of the platforms is mounted to be floating along a longitudinal direction with respect to a median stud provided to be affixed to the ski, with an adjacent end provided to rest in simple support against the stud, in a direction that tends to distance it from the other platform, an opposing end being free to slide along a longitudinal direction, and an abutment to be affixed to the ski just beyond the opposing end at a predetermined distance so as to limit the free sliding thereof during bending of the ski.

  • Patent number: 5727807
Abstract: A ski having a sole equipped with discontinuous serrations including a central flat gliding zone and on one side, at least, a lateral curved gliding zone bordering the central zone. The surface of the rear portion at least, of the central zone between the rear contact line and the center line of the boot of the ski is equipped with a pronounced structuring such that the measured values of the significant roughness parameters Rtm and Rku are greater than the values measured on the surface of the lateral curved gliding zone. The invention is more specifically related to an alpine ski whose ability to pivot and to glide are thus improved.

  • Patent number: 5725237
Abstract: A ski having a sole equipped with discontinuous serrations comprising a smooth or lightly structured front portion and a strongly structured rear portion. The rear portion extends towards the rear in the direction of rear contact line from a transverse line located between the boot center line and a transverse line located at a distance (d) from the boot center line, equal to 0.4 times the distance (D) separating the line from forward contact line. The invention is more specifically related to an alpine ski whose ability to glide is thus improved.
