    Abstract: The present invention relates to a probe adapted for use in retrieving blood clots from part of the blood circulatory systems, together with an associated device and method. The probe has a first end and a second end and each end is provide with an aperture therein. The aperture in the second end is adapted in use to be connected to a suction pump by a connection means. A channel provided passing from the aperture in the second end of the probe to the aperture in the first end of the probe. The probe has no moving parts and is of a suitable configuration to give rise, in use, to the creation of a sheer force in the form of a vortex around the first end of the probe.
