    Abstract: An enclosure system for a mechanical device having an airflow which carries particles. The enclosure system includes a body configured to contain the airflow and a generally flat surface. The flat surface includes at least one three-dimensional feature. The enclosure system also includes a generally smooth cover configured to cover at least a portion of the flat surface and the at least one three-dimensional feature to thereby isolate the feature from the airflow and thereby reduce air turbulence in the airflow and any resultant particle deposition.
