  • Patent number: 7326670
Abstract: A well service fluid comprising one or more anionic viscoelastic surfactants and one or more polymers is described. The fluids can contain an aqueous or non-aqueous fluid and/or a buffer for adjusting the pH of the fracturing fluid. The well service fluid can be used as a fracturing fluid in order to control water production from a well, while simultaneously increasing the oil production from the well.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 23, 2004
Date of Patent: February 5, 2008
    Assignee: BJ Services Company
Inventors: Gino F. DiLullo, Philip J. Rae, Atikah J. K. Ahmad
  • Patent number: 7156178
Abstract: Compositions containing a peroxide or peracid and an organic acid salt buffer are provided. Also provided is a method for utilizing such compositions for removing polymers from oil and gas wells, while simultaneously dissolving encountered calcium carbonate deposits.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 23, 2003
Date of Patent: January 2, 2007
    Assignee: BJ Services Company
Inventors: Phillip J. Rae, Gino F. Dilullo Arias
  • Publication number: 20040200619
Abstract: Compositions containing a peroxide or peracid and an organic acid salt buffer are disclosed. The compositions are useful for re-moving polymers from oil and gas wells, while simultaneously dissolving encountered calcium carbonate deposits.

  • Patent number: 6235809
Abstract: This invention relates to a cement composition for cementing oil, gas and geothermal wells comprising: a cement; and an additive comprising a blend of a sodium silicate; water; a carrageenan suspending agent; a sodium polyacrylate; an AMPS terpolymer; a dispersant; and a cellulosic water soluble polymer. The dispersant may comprise a sulfonated naphthalene formaldehyde condensate or a sulfonated ketone acetone formaldehyde condensate. The cellulosic water soluble polymer may comprise HEC or CMHEC. The invention can also function to reduce the occurrence of gas channelling and stabilize foam created by adding nitrogen gas to cement.
