  • Publication number: 20200154323
Abstract: In one aspect of the teachings herein, a radio network node associated with a source cell provides sidelink configuration information to a wireless device to be handed over to a target cell. The information indicates the sidelink synchronization and resource configurations associated with the target cell, and the wireless device performs sidelink communications based on the sidelink synchronization and resource configurations of the target cell. Receiving the sidelink resource and timing information associated with the target cell enables the wireless device to perform sidelink communications using the target-cell resources and timing, even while still being served in a cellular sense from the source cell. Thus, the wireless device may begin or resume sidelink communications using the sidelink timing and resources associated with the target cell, irrespective of whether cellular handover of the wireless device from the source cell to the target cell has completed.

  • Publication number: 20190353746
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a wireless device (10) for handling positioning of the wireless en device in a wireless communications 5 network (1). The wireless device (10) receives assistance data from a location node (15), or a radio network node (12), in the wireless communications network, wherein the assistance data comprises a positioning configuration comprising a start and/or stop information indicating when positioning reference signal, PRS, transmissions from the radio network node are started and/or ended. The wireless device measures, based on the assistance data, a positioning information of PRSs; and g transmits the measured positioning information to the location node or the radio network node.

  • Publication number: 20190274111
Abstract: A core network node (302) and a method therein. The core network node, a transmission point (308,312) and a wireless device (310) operate in a wireless communications network (300). The core network node manages at least one set of transmission points, wherein each transmission point is associated with a respective index. Further, the core network node receives, from the wireless device, measurement information and an index, and maps the measurement information to a transmission point based on the received index and an association, which association associates a transmission point to an index that is unique for the wireless device.

  • Patent number: 10251100
Abstract: A method performed by a source network node for handover of a wireless communication device in a first wireless communications network using a first RAT is provided. The handover is to be performed from the source network node to a target network node. The wireless communication device is configured to communicate with the source network node directly and to communicate with the source network node via a radio access node in a second wireless communications network using a second RAT. The source network node provides (401) the target network node with information about parameters relating to a communication between the wireless communication device and the source network node via the radio access node. The source network node receives (402) a feedback from the target network node. The feedback comprises an indication of whether or not the radio access node was able to keep a context of the wireless communication device in the second wireless communications network.

  • Publication number: 20180262465
Abstract: A wireless communication device (12) served by a wireless wide area network (WWAN) base station supports per-bearer switching of bearer traffic between the WWAN and a wireless local area network (WLAN) in a manner transparent to the WLAN. The device in this regard establishes a secure tunnel (24) through the WLAN to a security gateway (22), based on the device receiving a message from the WWAN base station (18) to establish the secure tunnel (24). The device switches bearer traffic between the WWAN and the WLAN on a per bearer basis, with bearer traffic switched to the WLAN being transported through the secure tunnel (24) and over a connection (26) between the security gateway (22) and the WWAN base station (18).

  • Patent number: 9503393
Abstract: A method in a network node for handling a relocation of a data flow of a User Equipment, UE, from a first GateWay, GW, to a second GW is provided. The network node receives (401) a message from a core network node. This message is an Enhanced Radio Access Bearer, E-RAB, modify request message. The message comprises one or more parameters for the relocation of the data flow for one or more respective E-RABs, wherein the one or more parameters comprises one or more Quality of Service, QoS, parameters. The message further comprises an indication, indicating whether or not to ignore the QoS parameters. When the QoS parameter is indicated to be ignored, the network node ignores the QoS parameters in the message. When the QoS parameters are indicated not to be ignored, the network node modifies the QoS of the data flow according to the QoS parameters in the message.
