    Abstract: A fastener assembly 20 having a hook 68 for connecting a first article 78 to a continuous cable 70 includes first and second matable members 22,24, each having a body portion 26 at a cable-proximate end thereof, the body portion 26 having a work arm 32 and a cable-proximate arm extending outwardly from a mating face 28 thereof and defining therebetween a recess 48 for receiving the body portion 26 of the other member when the members are mated, and a hook portion 54. The work and cable-proximate arms 32,40 of the first member 22 are in opposite vertical orientation to the work and cable-proximate arms 32,40 of the second member 24.

    Abstract: A connector 10 is disclosed of the type that interconnects and mechanically secures two electrical conductors together, particularly non-insulated, flat ribbon conductors 46. The connector includes a C-shaped clamping member 42 and a wedge 44 that is conformably received therewithin thereby forming a conductor receiving channel on each side of the wedge 44, between the wedge 44 and the walls of the clamping member 42. As the wedge 44 is forced into the clamping member 42 the walls are elastically deflect outwardly, applying substantial force against the conductors, thereby establishing good electrical contact and a strong mechanical interconnection of the two conductors. The connector 10 is self aligning for a variety of conductor sizes where at least one is a flat conductor. This is achieved by means of a novel combination of concave and convex surfaces on the clamping member and a pair of flat converging surfaces on the wedge, one of which includes a concave portion.

    Abstract: An electrical wire connector of the type having a wedge with converging side surfaces forcible into a C-shaped member between converging ears thereof, includes concave channel portions of the wedge side surfaces opposing arcuate inner surfaces of the ears to clamp respective wires therein under substantial clamping force to common and mechanically join them. The wedge has a raised region to be adjacent and abut the bight of the C-shaped member to minimize bowing thereof and thereby substantially increase the clamping force applied on the wires by the ears of the C-shaped member.

    Abstract: An electrical wire connector has a bifurcated bolt having opposed prongs coextending spaced from each other defining a wire-receiving channel therebetween. A nut is threaded onto the bolt until an insert carried by the nut is pressed tightly against one of the two wires disposed along the channel, to clamp the wires tightly against the bottom of the channel and electrically interconnect the wires. The nut has an internally threaded lower section within which a body section of the insert is disposed, and an upper section joined to the lower section at a frangible section adapted to break upon sufficient torque being applied to the nut by a tool, thus providing a torque limit and a visual indication of full assured interconnection.

    Abstract: An electrical wire connector (10) has a C-shaped body section having arcuate ears (22) laterally therealong and converging from a wide end to a narrow end and forming wire grooves (24), a wedge having converging concave side surfaces (32) forming wire channels opposing wire grooves (24) when inserted into the wide end of the C-shaped member (12), and a shear head drive bolt (50) for urging the wedge (14) into the C-shaped member upon actuation to compress and thus interconnect respective wires (16,18) placed along the wire channels. The drive bolt (50) has an outer hexagonal head (54) joined to a smaller inner hexagonal head (56) at a frangible section to be sheared off upon achievement of a selected torque level which assures interconnection of the wires when attained.
