  • Patent number: 7084195
Abstract: A latex composition includes (i) 100 parts by mass (in terms of a solid content) of an anionic latex containing, as a main component, a conjugate diene copolymer containing (A) 55 to 99.99% by mass of a conjugate diene unit, (B) 0.01 to 5% by mass of an unsaturated carboxylic acid unit, (C) 0 to 44.99% by mass of an aromatic vinyl compound unit, and (D) 0 to 40% by mass of another unsaturated compound unit copolymerizable therewith, (ii) 0.1 to 20 parts by mass of a nonionic surfactant, and (iii) 0.1 to 10 parts by mass of a cationic surfactant. The latex composition has both of an excellent compatibility with an asphalt and a strong adhesiveness to an aggregate.

  • Publication number: 20030181557
Abstract: The present invention provides an aqueous emulsion dispersion widely applicable and capable of providing excellent properties even when used by mixing into other conventional emulsions used for many utilities. The aqueous emulsion dispersion has improved stability over time and mechanical stability, and when used as an asphalt modifier, the aqueous emulsion dispersion can be easily mixed and dissolved into hot asphalt or asphalt emulsion and can improve flow resistance, toughness and low temperature flexibility of asphalt without losing workability. The present invention also relates to a process for preparing the aqueous emulsion dispersion.

  • Patent number: 6518354
Abstract: There is provided a dispersing emulsion excellent in storage stability and mechanical stability, particularly an asphalt modifier of an water based dispersing emulsion, which can be mixed with a hot asphalt or an asphalt emulsion, and can improve rutting resistance, toughness, and flexibility at a low temperature without losing workability. There is provided a dispersing emulsion of a thermoplastic elastomer, which is emulsified and dispersed in the presence of at least one nonionic emulsifier selected from the group consisting of a styrenated phenol poly(alkylene oxide), a poly(alkylene polyamine) poly(alkylene oxide), polyalcohol fatty acid esters, polyalcohol fatty acid esters poly(alkylene oxide), and a benzylated phenol poly(alkylene oxide).
