Abstract: New yellow mono-azo dyes which are insoluble in water are disclosed. The dyes are derived from 1-phenyl-3-aminopyrazoles and are particularly effective in dyeing synthetic hydrophobic fibers to intense yellow shades.

Abstract: This invention relates to a class of disazo dyes that are useful to dye and print water-swellable cellulose material and blends thereof with synthetic materials, and, in particular, to dye and print polyester-cotton blends.More particularly, the process of this invention relates to a process or method for dyeing and printing fabrics of water-swellable cellulose material and blends thereof with synthetic materials, in particular polyester-cotton mixed fibres, such process comprising the dyeing and printing of the material in the presence of water and of a high-boiling solvent, capable of maintaining cellulose in the swollen state at the application temperature, with disazo dyes having general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein: X.sub.1 =a hydrogen, alkyl or alkoxyl having 1 to 4 atoms of carbon, chlorine, bromine, --CN, --NHCOR.sub.1, --NHCO--Ar, --COOR, --CON(R.sub.1).sub.2, --NO.sub.2 ;X.sub.2 =a hydrogen, alkyl or alkoxyl having 1 to 4 atoms of carbon, chlorine, bromine, --NHCOR.sub.1, --NHCO--Ar;X.sub.

Abstract: A plastosoluble fluorescent organic dye is disclosed that is derived from benzanthrone, and having the general formula: ##STR1## wherein X = --H or --Br; and Y = --H, --OCH.sub.3 or --OC.sub.2 H.sub.5. A process for the preparation of a dye of the general formula (I) is also disclosed. These dyes are useful in the bulk dyeing of polystyrene, polymethylmethacrylate, rigid PVC, polyethylene, acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene copolymers, polycarbonates or mineral oils.

Abstract: A fluorescent azabenzanthronic dye is disclosed having the general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X = --NH-- or --S--; and Y = --OCH.sub.3 or --OC.sub.2 H.sub.5. A process for the preparation of a dye of the general formula (I) is also disclosed. These dyes are useful in the bulk dyeing of polystyrene, polymethylmethacrylate, rigid PVC, polyethylene, acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene copolymers, polycarbonates or mineral oils.

Abstract: A new class of heterocyclic compounds containing N and S in the basic skeleton and which are 5-aza-7-thiadibenzocrysene derivatives useful as dyes or as intermediates in the synthesis of dyes and pigments are disclosed, as well as a method of obtaining the same by reaction of o-aminothiophenol 2-hydroxy-1-azabenzanthrone or its derivatives.
