    Abstract: An optical plug connector comprises a socket part, adapter part or coupling part with a socket housing for releasable connection to a plug part. An inside of the socket housing defines an inner space, into which a plug portion of the plug part may be introduced. Moreover, a switch device is present, by way of which a radiation power led to the plug part and/or the socket part, adapter part or coupling part (1) may be reduced or switched off when the plug connection is released. The switch device comprises a first element which is present or fastenable on the socket part, adapter part or coupling part, and a second element which is present or may be fastened on the plug part, wherein the switch device is actuated in that the first and the second element cooperate.
