  • Patent number: 11668529
Abstract: A double-tube heat exchanger includes an outer tube and an inner tube forming a first annular gap. The outer tube is provided with an inlet connection and an outlet connection for inletting and outletting a first fluid flowing in the first annular gap. The inner tube includes a first inlet connection and a second outlet connection for inletting and outletting a second fluid flowing in the inner tube for an indirect heat exchange with the first fluid. One of the tube sections is integrally formed with an assembly wall which joints a first end of the outer tube to the inner tube, to seal the first annular gap at the first end of the outer tube. A second annular gap is exposed to the air and is in fluid communication neither with the first annular gap nor with the inner tube, and is partially surrounded by the first annular gap.

  • Patent number: 11536447
Abstract: A shell-and-tube heat exchanger comprises a shell enclosing a plurality of U-shaped tubes. Each tube is provided with a first portion and with a second portion. The open ends of each tube are connected to a tube-sheet. A pressure chamber is connected to the tube-sheet. The pressure chamber contains a guiding jacket that, at a first end thereof, is sealingly joined to the tube-sheet or the first tube portions and, at a second end thereof that is opposite to the first end, is open. The guiding jacket splits the pressure chamber into a first section and a second section. The first section and the second section are in communication with each other by means of the open end of the guiding jacket. The first section is provided with a liquid level, located below the open end, and therefore with a vapour chamber, located above the liquid level.

  • Patent number: 11466942
Abstract: Shell-and-tube equipment includes a tube bundle, an inlet tube-sheet, and an anti-erosion device including an outer tubular element and an inner tubular element. A first tubular end of the outer tubular element is connected the inlet tube-sheet, whereas a second free tubular end of the outer tubular element extends in an inlet channel. The inner tubular element is inserted into the outer tubular element, so as to substantially cover the entire internal surface of the outer tubular element, and into at least a portion of the corresponding tube to a point beyond the joint or the second side of the inlet tube-sheet whichever is further from the outer tubular element. The inner tubular element is joined to the outer tubular element by means of mechanical or hydraulic expansion of at least a first tubular portion of the inner tubular element against the internal surface of the outer tubular element.

  • Patent number: 11143465
Abstract: Shell-and-tube equipment includes a shell that surrounds a plurality of tubes. At least one end of each tube is joined to an inlet tube-sheet provided with respective tube-sheet bores. The inlet tube-sheet is provided with a first side and with a second side. The inlet tube-sheet is connected to each tube of the tube bundle, on its second side, in such a way that each tube does not extend inside the respective tube-sheet bore. The inlet tube-sheet is provided, on at least part of its tube-sheet bores, with respective tubular protection devices. Each tubular protection device is made in the form of a butt, or a piece of tube, that extends from the first side of the inlet tube-sheet at a respective tube-sheet bore.

  • Patent number: 11073347
Abstract: A shell-and-tube equipment comprises an inlet channel for a first fluid to be cooled, an outlet channel for the cooled first fluid, a plurality of tube-bundle tubes, at least a tube-sheet, a shell enclosing the tube-bundle tubes and a bypass system for controlling the outlet temperature of the cooled first fluid at a target value. The bypass system comprises a box installed inside the outlet channel. The box is provided with an opening or conduit, a regulating valve and a box tube-sheet. The box is further provided with bypass bayonet tubes. Each bayonet tube extends from the box tube-sheet to a point in between a first open end and a second open end of the tube-bundle tubes and is partially inserted into a corresponding tube-bundle tube, so as an annular gap in between each tube-bundle tube and the corresponding bayonet tube is formed.

  • Patent number: 11054196
Abstract: A shell-and-tube heat exchanger has a cylindrical geometry and comprises a first pressure chamber and a second pressure chamber connected to a common tube-sheet on opposite sides. The tube-sheet is connected to a tube bundle housed in the first pressure chamber and comprising a plurality of U-shaped exchanging tubes. Each U-shaped tube is provided with a first portion and with a second portion. The first pressure chamber contains at least one inner guiding jacket having a cylindrical or pseudo-cylindrical geometry and extending along the major longitudinal axis of the first pressure chamber. The inner guiding jacket surrounds the first portion of each U-shaped tube for at least part of the respective length. The inner guiding jacket is sealingly connected, at a first end thereof, to the tube-sheet. The inner guiding jacket is open at a second end thereof.
