  • Publication number: 20240294624
Abstract: The present invention concerns the field of monoclonal antibodies, and describes an isolated anti-EPO antibody which binds human Erythropoietin (EPO) preventing its binding to specific receptors and inhibiting their signaling pathway. The invention further describes a polynucleotide encoding the anti-EPO antibody, a vector comprising the polynucleotide and a host cell comprising the vector. Furthermore, a method is described, for producing the antibody.

  • Patent number: 10456557
Abstract: An occlusion bypassing apparatus is disclosed for re-entering the true lumen of a vessel after subintimally bypassing an occlusion in a vessel. The apparatus includes an outer shaft component, an inner shaft component disposed within the outer shaft component, and a needle component slidably disposed within the inner shaft component. The inner shaft component includes a body portion and a needle housing, which is distal to the body portion. The needle housing is less flexible than the body portion. In order to smooth the transition between the body portion and the needle housing, the needle housing includes a transition portion that has a variable flexibility along its length that decreases in a distal direction. A curved distal end of the needle component is distally advanced relative to the inner shaft component to pierce through the intima of the vessel and thereafter enter the true lumen.

  • Patent number: 10327791
Abstract: An occlusion bypassing apparatus for re-entering the true lumen of a vessel after subintimally bypassing an occlusion in a vessel. The apparatus includes an outer shaft component, a needle component, and an inflatable balloon. The outer shaft component has a side port proximal to a distal end thereof and a needle lumen there-through that includes a curved distal portion that terminates at the side port of the outer shaft component. The needle component is configured to be slidably disposed within the needle lumen of the outer shaft component. The inflatable balloon includes a body portion that is disposed distal to the side port of the outer shaft component, and the body portion of the balloon has a flattened profile in an inflated state with first and second chambers that laterally extend from opposing sides of the outer shaft component for stabilizing the apparatus within a subintimal space.

  • Patent number: 9278190
Abstract: The present invention relates to a catheter (1?, 1?) for intraluminal treatment which comprises a main tubular body (2) extending along a longitudinal axis (X) between a proximal end portion (2?) and a distal end portion (2?), which delimits at least one central lumen (4). The main tubular body identifies at least one balloon (8). The catheter further comprises at least one inner tubular body (6), at least partially housed in the central lumen, which delimits at least one inner lumen (16) for housing at least one guide wire, the portion of distal extremity of the balloon being joined to the inner tubular body. Furthermore, the central axis (Y) of the inner lumen is arched or undulated to form an accumulation of material for the expansion of the balloon. The present invention further refers to a method of manufacturing the catheter of the invention and to a machine for the production of a tool used during the aforesaid method.

  • Patent number: 9168362
Abstract: A drug eluting angioplasty balloon (1, 101) suitable to adopt a deployed configuration and a collapsed configuration, the balloon having an outer wall (10) disposed around a core (11) defining an axis (X). The balloon (1, 101) comprising in the collapsed configuration a plurality of folds (12, 12?, 112) that are laid in a tangential direction about the core (11) and form a plurality of cavities (13a, 13b, 113) loaded with a drug (14), the cavities (13a, 13b, 113) are comprised between the folds (12, 12?, 112), wherein the folds (12, 12?, 112) originates from distinct longitudinal lines (25, 25?, 125, 125?) along the outer wall (10), are arranged in pairs and are circumferentially wrapped about the core (11) in such a way that a fold of one pair overlaps an adjacent fold of another pair and are wrapped in opposite directions.
