  • Patent number: 11855739
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may establish a communication link using a first serving beam on a secondary component carrier (SCC). The UE may identify a link failure associated with the first serving beam. The UE may transmit an out-of-range indication associated with the first serving beam in association with the link failure. The UE may report measurement information for one or more candidate serving beams. The UE may receive an indication of a second serving beam from the one or more candidate serving beams. The UE may switch to the second serving beam for the SCC. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20230362713
Abstract: Methods and apparatus configured to obtain a decision-point value, and send, for a logical channel group (LCG) having a quantity of data pending an uplink transmission, a long buffer status report in response to the decision-point value exceeding a threshold value, or a short buffer status report in response to the decision-point value being equal to or less than the threshold value are disclosed. The decision-point value may be a buffer status report-type determinative value, which may be based on a peak power envelope of a wireless communication device, a data transmission rate historically obtained by the wireless communication device, a number of component carriers available for a complete upload of a buffer holding data, a cost function, an amount of data associated with the LCG that is pending the uplink transmission, a type of the wireless communication device, or a latency of communications of the wireless communication device.

  • Publication number: 20230189033
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a measurement configuration for a plurality of cells. The UE may perform measurement of each of the plurality of cells in an order, wherein the order is based at least in part on a priority, wherein the priority is based at least in part on an aggregated downlink bandwidth. The UE may transmit a measurement report based at least in part on the order. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20230189166
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for receiving an aggregate bandwidth configuration including, a downlink (DL) bandwidth configuration indicating DL resources for one or more DL receptions, and an uplink (UL) bandwidth configuration indicating UL resources for one or more UL transmissions, calculating a maximum power reduction backoff value based on the UL bandwidth configuration, and transmitting UL information for at least one of the one or more UL transmissions based on the maximum power reduction backoff value.

  • Publication number: 20230171590
Abstract: Aspects relate to a UE adapting the capability it advertises based on the network within which the UE is operating. In some examples, if a network currently supports a certain bandwidth, the UE may select the capabilities it will advertise based on that supported bandwidth. In some examples, a UE may acquire information regarding which configurations were considered by a network. In this case, the UE may select the capabilities it will advertise based on such configurations.

  • Publication number: 20220394714
Abstract: A method of wireless communication performed at a user equipment (UE), includes transmitting, to a network node, a first indication of a first UE radio capability, the first UE radio capability indicating support for a group of evolved universal terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) new radio (NR) dual connectivity (EN-DC) band combinations. The method also includes receiving, from the network node, an indication of an active EN-DC band combination based on transmitting the first indication. The method further includes transmitting, to the network node, a second indication of a second UE radio capability based on an actual data throughput metric associated with the active EN-DC band combination satisfying a failure condition. The second UE radio capability may indicate support for one or more non-active EN-DC combinations. Each non-active EN-DC combination may be associated with a potential data throughput metric that is greater than a data throughput threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20220046548
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit communications on a primary component carrier and a secondary component carrier (SCC). The UE may refrain from transmission on the SCC based at least in part on an error rate for transmission on the SCC and an amount of transmission power headroom for the UE. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Publication number: 20120127930
Abstract: User equipment (UE) transmits an access response to a random access procedure (RACH) preamble message to acquire an uplink grant from a node of a wireless communication system. The access response provides an uplink grant to the UE for a request for authorization to transmit uplink data to the node. In response to determining that the access response message provides an uplink grant sufficient to empty the UE's data buffer, the UE transmits the request for authorization including the uplink data to the node. The UE can then terminate the RACH procedure without requiring any subsequent uplink grant from the node, having accomplished successful data transmission using the request for authorization.
