  • Patent number: 4382255
Abstract: An automated banking system comprises a room with controlled access by the public and having an area which is monitored by at least one surveillance camera. The area includes equipment defining an automated bank counter and an assembly of strongboxes disposed on a movable apparatus and adapted to be controlled so that a specific strongbox can be presented to an access position which is also monitored by the camera.

  • Patent number: 4367627
Abstract: A system for utilizing the energy of a moving air current comprises a chimney through which an air current is induced by barometric or temperature differences between the top and the bottom of the chimney and/or by wind passing over the top of the chimney. A rotor is arranged in the air current and drives an engine. When induced by a wind, the induced air current has a speed which is greater than the wind speed.

  • Patent number: 4308803
Abstract: A protective door system is provided by a fixed wall and a mobile wall which has the shape of a sector of a cylinder with its axis arranged vertically. The mobile wall is rotatable about said axis between first and second operational positions. In the first operational position a first aperture is opened between the fixed and mobile walls which allows entry of a person from the exterior into a space between the walls and the walls co-operate to prevent passage from the space into the protected room. In the second operational position, a second aperture is opened between the walls which allows a person in the space to pass into the room and the walls co-operate to prevent passage from the exterior into the space. Automatic control means are provided for blocking the passage through the door of any unwanted persons.

  • Patent number: 4122783
Abstract: Access to the room is provided only by a movable compartment which must be entered by a person, at an entry opening, and moved along an access path, to an access opening, in order for the person to enter the room. A magnetic detector is provided either wholly within the compartment, or along the access path, or partly within the compartment and partly along the access path, to detect the presence of ferromagnetic masses, such as weapons, carried by a person within the movable compartment. Known locking device are provided so that, upon such detection of the presence of a ferromagnetic mass, movement of the compartment along the access path to the access opening can be interrupted so that the person is retained in the compartment. The compartment may comprise a box reciprocable along the access path between the entry opening and the access opening, or may be a section of a revolving door and, in either case, the compartment is formed of non-magnetic material.

  • Patent number: 4063519
Abstract: The premises to be protected have at least one laterally confined passage communicating therewith, such as an entrance passage, an exit passage, or both. Each passage has mounted therein at least one rotating door, of the type including a vertically oriented rotatable post and a plurality of angularly spaced elements secured to and extending radially from the post, the door being freely rotatable in a single direction to permit one person at a time to pass along the passage in the single direction. Approximately half the circumferential extent of each door is enclosed by a semi-cylindrical barrier, and a treadle or other type of depressible floor section, responsive to the weight of a person entering into the door and attempting to rotate the door in the direction opposite to such single direction, operates a locking means device preventing movement of the door in either direction so that such a person is trapped in the door or between two doors located serially along the passage.
