  • Patent number: 6335101
Abstract: A thermoplastic composite having a multiplicity of layers and comprising: I) a layer of a polyamide molding composition, II) a layer of a polyester molding composition, and III) a layer of an adhesion promoter adherent to I and II comprising at least 50% by weight of a blend of: a) from 20 to 80% by weight of a polyamide, prepared from &agr;) at least one diamine having from 6 to 12 carbon atoms, and &bgr;) an essentially stoichiometrically equivalent amount of at least one dicarboxylic acid comprising at least 5 mol % of a dicarboxylic acid having from 10 to 36 carbon atoms, and b) from 80 to 20% by weight of a polyester, prepared from &agr;) a mixture of from 30 to 95 mol % of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid having from 6 to 20 carbon atoms and from 70 to 5 mol % of the same dicarboxylic acid as in the polyamide of the adhesion promoter, having from 10 to 36 carbon atoms, and &bgr;) at least one diol having from 2 to 12 carbon atoms.

  • Patent number: 4668763
Abstract: New hydroxyl polyesters fluid at room temperature, with low viscosities at relatively high molecular weight and very low setting points have alkyl side chains in substantially regular arrangement along preferably unbranched or only slightly branched polyester chains, and are formed by the reaction of monocarboxylic acids and/or monoalkanols or their esters of ethers or polyester building components with additional polyester-forming derivatives. The new polyesters can be used to special advantage, after functionalization, for coatings or as adhesives. Especially advantageous is the fact that they can be used without solvents or with a very low solvent content.

  • Patent number: 4380646
Abstract: A process is disclosed for the prparation of an acylated aminocarboxylic acid which comprises contacting an aminocarboxylic acid, its alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt with a low alkyl carboxylic acid ester of the formulaR.sub.1 -CO-O-R.sub.2,wherein R.sub.1 represents hydrogen or a straight-chain or branched or cyclic hydrocarbon moiety of 1 to 30 carbon atoms, which can be substituted if desired, and wherein R.sub.2 represents a straight-chain, branched or cyclic hydrocarbon moiety of 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the presence of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal alcoholate.

  • Patent number: 4271269
Abstract: An enzyme immobilizate comprising an amorphous siliceous support to which an enzyme is bonded by adsorption via an amino alkoxy silane is regenerated after the enzyme has become inactive by contacting the immobilizate containing the inactive enzyme with a solution of inorganic ammonium sulfate or a solution of primary, secondary, tertiary or quaternary C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl or hydroxy alkyl ammonium sulfate to desorb the enzyme and then contacting the support with a fresh enzyme solution to adsorb active enzyme to the support.
