Abstract: A modular furniture system is described. The system includes a base component having a cavity and at least one base connector, at least one flexible side panel adapted to connect to the base component, each flexible side panel including at least one first connecting region adapted to be secured to the cavity of the base component and at least one second connecting region, a top support component comprising a cavity adapted to be secured to the at least one second connecting region, and a lid adapted to be coupled to the top support component. A modular furniture device is also described. The device includes a base component and top support component, each with at least one cavity and multiple slots, and at least one side panel. Each side panel includes multiple connecting regions with tabs able to be connected to slots included in the base or top support component.
