  • Patent number: 7360375
Abstract: The system (SC) includes a first, vapour compression circuit (A), including a compressor (1) with its output connected to a condenser (2; 2?) followed by an expansion device (4) and an evaporator (5; 16) having its output connected to the in of the compressor (1); a second, absorption circuit (B) with a hygroscopic solution flowing through it in operation and including a regenerator (11) with semipermeable membranes operable to allow the said solution to give up moisture (water) to a first airflow flowing in the regenerator (11) in operation, a dehumidifier (13) with semipermeable membranes arranged downstream of the regenerator (11) and operable to allow a second airflow to give up moisture to the hygroscopic solution, and a circulation pump (14). The first and second circuits (A, B) are connected by at least one heat exchanger (5) in which the hygroscopic solution flowing through the second circuit (B) gives up heat to the cooling fluid flowing through the first circuit (A).

  • Patent number: 7102501
Abstract: A device and method for automatically preventing misting of the windscreen of a vehicle, wherein a number of sensors determine ambient conditions capable of misting the windscreen, and, upon such ambient conditions occurring, an electronic central control unit automatically activates the air-conditioning system of the vehicle to prevent the windscreen from misting. The device has and the method utilizes a radiant mean temperature sensor arranged inside the vehicle passenger compartment to measure temperature inside the passenger compartment. The radiant mean temperature sensor (4) has a field of view including at least part of the windscreen.

  • Publication number: 20060123699
Abstract: A greenhouse (1) is provided with an air humidifier (10) and a condenser ((35): the humidifier (10) has a semi-permeable membrane, of the type which permits the passage of water vapour between opposite sides of the membrane if there is a vapour pressure gradient between the said sides. A flow of sea water (13) and a flow of air (14) taken from the outside are supplied to the humidifier (10) and sent to opposite sides of the membrane, in such a way that the flow of air (14) is humidified before being introduced into the greenhouse; the humidified air (30) is then condensed in the condenser (10) to produce condensate (36) to be used for irrigating the plants.

  • Publication number: 20040040321
Abstract: There is described a device for automatically preventing misting of the windscreen of a vehicle, wherein a number of sensors determine ambient conditions capable of misting the windscreen, and, upon such ambient conditions occurring, an electronic central control unit automatically activates the air-conditioning system of the vehicle to direct a stream of hot air onto the windscreen to raise its temperature and so prevent it from misting.
