  • Patent number: 9964964
Abstract: An automatic balancing valve is described, wherein a flow controller device is provided and comprises at least translationally movable plug and a respective valve seat that cooperates with the plug in order to automatically adjust the fluid flow rate through the valve. A ring nut, combined with the flow controller device, is rotationally hand-operated to move a choking member placed inside the valve. The movement transmission from the ring nut to the choking member is achieved by a mechanism comprising a plurality of toothed gears.

  • Publication number: 20110062367
Abstract: A valve assembly is provided having two valve sections, each having a tubular passageway portion and when joined together, defining a ball cavity in communication with the tubular passageways. One of the body sections is provided with an inlet/outlet in communication with the ball cavity as well as a spindle flange. An elongate spindle extends through the spindle flange projecting into the ball cavity region to rotate a spherical ball element between an open and a bypass position. The ball valve has a primary elongate passage which interconnects the two tubular passage portions in the valve body sections when the ball valve is in the open position. When the ball valve is rotated to the bypass position, the tubular passage portion of one of the ball body sections is sealed closed while the other tubular passage portion communicates with an internal bypass port within the ball valve which in turn, communicates with the auxiliary inlet/outlet.

  • Publication number: 20080111369
Abstract: A tubular crimp connector is provided for attaching a valve assembly or the like to a metal pipe, a fluid tight mechanically secure manner. The connector includes a tubular section made of a metal alloy defining an axial bore sized to receive the pipe with an interior circumferential sealing surface and a plurality of integrally formed annularly spaced apart teeth oriented between the sealing surface and the connector distal end. The wall thickness of the connector in the region of the spaced apart teeth is sufficiently thin to be radially, plastically, permanently deformable by a crimping tool. It is sufficiently thick to provide a mechanically secure interconnection between the tubular connector and the metal pipe without requiring a reinforcing ferrule. The method of forming is provided in which a preform is hot forged and finish machined to the final shape.

  • Publication number: 20040256590
Abstract: A ball valve (1) has a housing (H) in which is mounted for rotation about an axis of operation (A), a valve member which is a ball (2), the ball (2) having a passage (P) through which fluid flows from an inlet (I) of the housing (H) to an outlet (O) of the housing (H), and the ball (2) has at one end of the passage (P) a metering opening (4) for the fluid, the ball (2) being rotatable about the axis of operation (A) between a first closed position in which the opening (4) is concealed by an adjacent housing wall and fluid flow through the passage (P) is prevented, and a fully open position in which the opening (4) is aligned with one of the inlet (I) and outlet (O) of the housing (H) to permit of maximum fluid flow through the passage (P), and characterised in that the opening (4) in the ball (2) at the one end of the passage (P) is provided by removing material by high pressure fluid jetting.

  • Patent number: 6702258
Abstract: A ball valve assembly having a single valve body having a female inlet opening which can be coupled to a selected one of a range of commercially available conduit sizes and materials. A series of adapter fittings are used, each corresponding to a different conduit size. The adapter ring is seated against the valve inlet opening. A compression ring mounted on the conduit is inserted in the valve opening to abut the adapter ring. A compression nut is mounted on the valve body to compress the compression ring to frictionally engage the conduit.

  • Patent number: 6668643
Abstract: A optical flow-meter device comprises an outer tubular body provided with an inlet pipe fitting and an outlet pipe fitting for a fluid, and a tubular element made of transparent plastic material, which sealingly extends inside the body between the inlet and the outlet pipe fittings. The outer tubular body has two facingly arranged side openings for the insertion of a light-emitting element, and a light-receiving element connected to an electronic flow control and digital reading unit. A light-shuttering member is axially slidable within the inner tubular element and is shaped to allow the fluid to flow and at the same time to partialize or gradually shutter the light beam between the emitter and the receiver, providing an electronic signal proportional to the fluid flow running along the inner tubular element. A biasing spring member acts on the light-shuttering member to balance the fluid thrust.
