  • Patent number: 4857223
Abstract: A non-caking, non-tacky and free-flowing particulate bleaching detergent composition includes a synthetic organic nonionic detergent, such as a polyethoxylated higher fatty alcohol or alkylphenol, a builder for the nonionic detergent, such as sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium silicate, sodium carbonate or a cation-exchanging sodium aluminosilicate (zeolite), or mixtures thereof, together with a sodium perborate hydrate bleaching agent, the degree of hydration of which corresponds to that of the monohydrate or less, such as 12 to 15%. The described composition, unlike similar compositions wherein the sodium perborate hydrate is the tetrahydrate, are non-caking, non-tacky and free-flowing after storage in a sealed container at elevated temperature, e.g., four weeks at 43.degree. C., whereas a similar product in which the sodium perborate hydrate is the tetrahydrate is caked solid after such treatment.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 22, 1988
Date of Patent: August 15, 1989
    Assignee: Colgate-Palmolive Company

  • Patent number: 4206069
Abstract: A composition for making transparent, non-sticky detergent particularly in pellet form comprising a soap component containing soap, a synthetic detergent component containing an anionic organic sulfonate or sulfate or a non-ionic aliphatic detergent or a mixture thereof, an organic non-volatile, high boiling solvent component and water; and methods of making such composition and pellets. Other detergent compositions employing such transparent formulations as a base matrix and including one or more fillers, builders, oxidizing agents, foamboosters, enzymes, bactericides, pigments, brighteners, sequestrants, preservatives, foam control agents, anti-redeposition agents, ultra-violet light absorbers, etc., are disclosed along with methods for producing same.

  • Patent number: 4087368
Abstract: Water-soluble enzyme granules are prepared containing 5-95% by weight of a magnesium alkyl sulfate, 5-20% by weight of water and a proteolytic enzyme. The granules are produced by extrusion, and are in the form of cylindrical rods or spheres which have good flow properties, resistance to caking, segregation and dusting, and which are suitable for addition to particulate washing products.
