  • Publication number: 20120144998
Abstract: A hydraulic system for moving a carriage guided for movement along a linear path by a support frame, such as a backhoe or an excavator. The system comprises two hydraulic jacks, each having a cylinder body and a piston rod. The cylinder bodies of the two jacks are joined to one another, the end of the piston rod of one jack is connected to the support frame and the end of the piston rod of the other jack is connected to the carriage. In the invention, the two piston rods project from the same side of the joined cylinder bodies and in each end position of the carriage, the piston rod of a respective one of the jacks is extended while that of the other jack is retracted.

  • Patent number: 6607347
Abstract: A stabilizing leg for a backhoe is formed with a tubular outer member, a stabilizer rod connected telescopically to the tubular outer member, and a clearance adjusting mechanism for adjusting the clearance between the tubular outer member and the stabilizer rod. The clearance adjusting mechanism is provided with at least one adjusting pad fitted to the tubular outer member so as to rest on an edge between two contiguous outer lateral surfaces of the stabilizer rod.

  • Patent number: 6508323
Abstract: A hood for earthmoving machines, such as a backhoe, includes a top panel and two side panels extending beneath and on opposite sides of the top panel to form a substantially upside down U-shaped shell resting on a frame of the vehicle to close the engine compartment of the backhoe. The side panels extend substantially parallel to a vertical centerline plane of the vehicle and are hinged to the frame of the vehicle to rotate, about an axis of rotation substantially perpendicular to the vertical centerline plane of the vehicle, between an open position in which the side panel is located over the top panel to permit access to the engine compartment, and a closed position in which the side panel is located beneath the top panel to close the engine compartment.
