Abstract: A casket comprising a casket underbody and an outer covering applied to the casket underbody to produce a finished casket. The casket underbody, i.e. casket lid and casket body, may be fabricated from lower cost wood, metal or plastic materials. The outer covering comprises a thin film and a base layer applied to the outer surface of the casket underbody. According to an embodiment, the outer covering may be customized or personalized according to the wishes or likes of the beloved deceased, or the family thereof, for example, the outer covering may be personalized with an artwork design for a favourite sport's team, or for a pet.
