Giuseppe Iori has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 4623705
Abstract: The application relates to a process for synthesizing carbonic allyl esters from polyhydric alcohols, which are reacted with diallyl carbonate in the presence of a basic catalyst, which can be chosen from sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, sodium alcoholate, organic bases or basic ion exchange resins. The final products obtained differ according to the ratio of the components of the starting mixture. Thus, in the case of diols with a diallyl carbonate/diol ratio greater than or equal to 10, the resultant product is constituted by the bis allyl carbonate of the diol together with a quantity of less than or equal to 10% of oligomers represented mainly by dimers. If the ratio is less than 10, the percentage of oligomers rises until, in the case of an approximately stoichiometric ratio, it reaches a value close to 70% of the reaction product.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 24, 1985
Date of Patent: November 18, 1986
    Assignee: Anic S.p.A.
    Inventors: Ugo Romano, Giuseppe Iori

  • Patent number: 4254276
Abstract: Phenolic ethers are prepared starting from phenol or a phenolic derivative and an alkyl carbonate which are reacted at a comparatively low temperature (below 160.degree. C.) and with good yield and selectivity by using a catalytic system composed by a base, preferably a tertiary amine, and by an iodide, either organic or inorganic.

  • Patent number: 4201633
Abstract: A method for separating benzene, toluene, xylenes and higher aromatics from admixtures containing them is disclosed, said method being based on the use of a solvent which is a 5-atom cyclic derivative of urea in which at least one of the nitrogen atoms is bound to an alkyl.Representative of this class of selective solvents is N,N'-dimethyl ethylene urea.Procedure details and examples are given.

  • Patent number: 4065469
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the synthesis of dibenzofuran by the dehydrocyclization of 2-cyclo-hexenyl-cyclohexanone at high temperature in the presence of air and a catalyst system selected among the known dehydrogenation catalysts.By the claimed process very high yields of dibenzofuran are achieved.
