Abstract: A method is provided for deleting a content element of a chat history lacking long-term relevance. The method includes receiving a content element, conditionally assigning the content element to the topic, determining a relationship index value for the content element to the topic using a validity value, which is a function of an access rate and a credibility index value. The method may also include comparing the relationship index threshold value for the topic of a first chat user, where the content element has been generated by a second chat user. The method also includes linking the content element of the second chat user to the topic in the chat history of the first user, and deleting the content element if it is not linked to any other chat history of another chat user of the plurality of chat users.

Abstract: Aspects of the present invention provide an approach for controlling energy generation by an airflow originating from a moving elevator cabin. Wing pressure pads are positioned outside the elevator cabin extending to walls of the elevator shaft for preventing an airflow in the elevator shaft from above the elevator cabin to an area in the shaft below the elevator cabin. The elevator shaft is pressure-tight, and the elevator shaft comprises, at one end of the elevator shaft, an air conduit in which a first power generator stage comprising a propeller-driven electrical power generator is positioned. The method comprises further intercepting a floor selection for the cabin and disabling the power generators if a floor difference from a current position of the elevator cabin to a target position of the elevator cabin is below a predefined threshold value.

Abstract: A messaging system creates a content index for messages for user selection of all of part of a message. By selecting only an indexed portion of the message, the user avoids downloading unneeded portions of the message. The content index is created according to pre-defined user criteria and semantic analysis of the contents of the message.

Abstract: As disclosed herein is a tool for enabling dynamic watermarking on a client, including a computer determining a negotiated watermarking algorithm that identifies at least one location on a web page for a placed watermark, and initiating a web communication by requesting a web page. The computer receives the web page, and verifies the authenticity of the web page using the negotiated watermarking algorithm prior to displaying of the web page. Also disclosed herein is a tool for enabling dynamic watermarking on a server which includes determining a negotiated watermarking algorithm that identifies at least one location on a web page for a placed watermark, receiving a request for a web page from a client, and identifying the client.

The method includes intercepting, by a processor, a sequence of data elements related to an interaction between a user and a user interface of a computer system that includes the processor. The method further includes identifying, by the processor, atomic operations within the sequence and metadata associated with the atomic operations. The method also includes calculating, by the processor, correlation indexes from the metadata. A respective correlation index is calculated for various atomic operation groups formed from the atomic operations. The method additionally includes identifying, by the processor, a macro operation from at least one of the correlation indexes. The macro operation includes multiple correlated atomic operations from among the atomic operations identified within the sequence.

Abstract: A method for efficient utilization of available bandwidth over a data connection between a client computer and a server computer. An echo component on both the sending and receiving side of the connection registers a set of connection parameters, and stores a copy of the last transmitted request or response of the client and server computer systems. Once an echo component detects a duplicate data request or response, it simulates and transmits the last stored response back to the client or server computer system and notifies the remote side echo component to send data when it is ready. When non-duplicate data is ready to be transmitted, the local side echo component disables the loopback protocol then notifies the remote side to do the same and the data is transmitted.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for distributing online content (e.g., news articles, blog posts, and the like) to a social media provider at a point in time determined based on topic maturity. One or more metrics are obtained from each of a plurality of social media providers. The metrics relate to a topic associated with a document for publishing on the social media providers. A measure is determined for each of the social media providers. The measure indicates when to publish the document on the social media provider based on the metrics associated with that provider. Upon determining that the measure exceeds a threshold for at least one of the social media providers, the document is published to the social media provider.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for rating applications. Execution of an application on a computing device is monitored to determine usage information for a user. Embodiments capture a plurality of images and for each of the plurality of images, extract, from the respective image, a set of user facial features and determine an user emotional state corresponding to the respective set of user facial features by applying a model correlating a set of predefined emotional states with corresponding predefined facial features. A trend of user emotional states across a plurality of executions of the application on the computing device is determined. Embodiments calculate a rating for the application based on the usage information, the user emotional states, and the trend of the user emotional states. The rating is sent to a server over a network connection for use in an aggregate rating of the application.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein comprise a system and method for improving visibility of a roadway using an improved visibility system. The method comprising receiving data from a plurality of fog detectors located proximate a roadway and determining, based on the data from the plurality of fog detectors, that fog is present about the roadway. The method further comprising obtaining, after the determining that fog is present about the roadway, a plurality of images of the roadway by activating a plurality of cameras located proximate the roadway. The method further comprising creating a composite image by combining two or more of the plurality of images, wherein the composite image depicts the roadway unobstructed by fog and transmitting the composite image to a display device located in a vehicle traveling along the roadway.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and computer system for pre-setting the foreground view of a photograph. A reference image is captured by a camera. The reference image is compared to a current a current image displayed within a viewing field of the camera. One or more alignment guides are displayed within the viewing field of the camera to aid in aligning the reference image and the current image. If it is determined that the reference image and the current image are aligned, the capture of a preferred photograph is enabled.
