    Abstract: A marking plumb bob having a separable two-part body assembly defining a reservoir for containing dry marking material and containing a ball check valve mechanism produces a circular ring shaped marking pattern to indicate the set position of a plumb line relative to a reference surface. A biasing spring associated with the check valve mechanism moves within the reservoir to agitate the marking material contained therein each time the ball check valve mechanism operates.
