  • Publication number: 20240125761
Abstract: A device measuring the fineness and/or maturity of cotton fibers contains a measuring chamber accommodating a cotton fiber sample and a tubular plunger. The measuring chamber extends between a first end closed by a wall having one or more vent holes and a second end opposed to the first end and hermetically closed. The plunger penetrates within the measuring chamber through the second end to run at least two strokes of predetermined lengths and has an inner channel extending between a tail portion and a perforated head portion placing the inner channel in fluid communication with the measuring chamber. The device further contains a reservoir placed upstream of the inner channel and in fluid communication with the inner channel; a pump filling the reservoir with air from an environment; and a flow regulator placed downstream of the reservoir and upstream of the inner channel.

  • Patent number: 10302620
Abstract: A measuring device for measuring stickiness, imperfections and impurities in textile fibers, such a device includes a housing inside which a pair of rollers are placed, arranged side by side to one another and rotating in opposite senses and between which a web of cotton fibers is made to pass. The rollers are heated, the sticky fractions of the web that adhere to the rollers after the passage of the web between them are detected, and the sticky fractions adhering to the rollers are removed, wherein the heating is controlled by a processing and control unit as a function of the temperature of the rollers detected by a temperature sensor associated with them.

  • Patent number: 10024839
Abstract: A measuring device for measuring the fineness and maturity of cotton fibers is provided. The measuring device includes a measuring chamber; a supply conduit; a flow regulator arranged along the supply conduit; a first pressure sensor upstream of the flow regulator; a second pressure sensor downstream of the flow regulator; an electronic proportional pressure regulator for regulating the air pressure in the supply conduit; and an electronic processing and control unit programmed to control the electronic proportional pressure regulator as a function of the detections of the first sensor and of the second sensor or of the second sensor alternatively and respectively to keep the difference between the air pressure upstream and downstream of the flow regulator or the air pressure entering the measuring chamber substantially constant and equal to a predeterminable value.

  • Patent number: 8691716
Abstract: The invention describes the preparation of electrocatalysts, both anodic (aimed at the oxidation of the fuel) and cathodic (aimed at the reduction of the oxygen), based on mono- and plurimetallic carbon nitrides to be used in PEFC (Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells), DMFC (Direct methanol fuel cells) and H2 electrogenerators. The target of the invention is to obtain materials featuring a controlled metal composition based on carbon nitride clusters or on carbon nitride clusters supported on oxide-based ceramic materials. The preparation protocol consists of three steps. In the first the precursor is obtained through reactions of the type: a) sol-gel; b) gel-plastic; c) coagulation-flocculation-precipitation.

  • Patent number: 8298359
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a recycled prepreg material in strip form, is composed of fiber sections embedded in a resin matrix. A charge of flat scraps from a prepreg starting material is supplied, recording the overall area of the scraps. Then the scraps are fragmented by cutting so as to obtain cut fragments of predetermined size. A strip of backing material and a strip of protective material are supplied. The cut fragments are then distributed in a random manner on the strip of backing material, the feeding speed of the strip of backing material being adjusted depending on the recorded area of the input scraps, so that the cut fragments form a substantially homogeneous layer. The strip of protective material is then arranged over the cut fragments distributed on the strip of backing material, and the whole assembly is then compacted so as to form a strip of recycled prepreg material.

The second step consists of the thermal treatments to decompose the precursors in an inert atmosphere leading to the production of the carbon nitrides. In the last step the chemical and electro-chemical activation of the electrocatalysts is performed.
