  • Publication number: 20090171342
Abstract: A system and method for using a common subchannel to assess operating characteristics of one of a plurality of transducers that are coupled to said subchannel is disclosed. The plurality of transducers are divided into subsets and each subset is coupled to a subchannel. The system is configured to activate a selected transducer on the subchannel and the subchannel delivers operational information on the activated transducer. The present invention reduces the number of subchannels required to collect information on the plurality of transducers. The present invention may utilize one or more loading conditions to take at least one measurement, which at least one measurement is then used to derive operational information on the transducer. In one configuration, information on the amount of energy being delivered to the transducer is collected simultaneously with information on the operating temperature. In another embodiment only the temperature is measured.

  • Publication number: 20090163909
Abstract: A medical device comprising a cell including an ablation element and a carrier configured to receive at least a portion of said ablation element is disclosed. The medical device further comprises a tube enclosing the cell. At least a portion of the tube includes a membrane and the tube includes at least one hole proximate the ablation element for facilitating fluid flow. The medical device further comprises a fluid inlet for providing fluid to the interior of the tube. A method of using the medical device is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080183169
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention controlling power distribution in an ablation control apparatus or the like. In one embodiment, a power switching apparatus comprises a first switch assembly having an input end to receive a power input signal, the first switch assembly having a plurality of output channels; a second switch assembly coupled to the output channels of the first switch assembly; a plurality of power receiving members coupled to the second switch assembly; and a controller controlling the first switch assembly to selectively transmit the power input signal to the output channels one at a time in a cyclical manner according to a first switching rate.

  • Publication number: 20020111142
Abstract: Method and apparatus for estimating of Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) wireless channels. The estimating (training) sequences are designed, transmitted and processed in such a way that the channel response is estimated for each transmitter, even if transmitters send training sequences at all discrete multitone frequencies simultaneously, and that the negative effects of phase noise and frequency offset on channel estimation are minimized. The proposed sequences are optimal or near-optimal from the viewpoint of mean-squared error in channel estimation for a given energy and duration of the training signal. Within above described scope, several approaches to and designs of channel estimator are proposed.
