  • Publication number: 20250257641
Abstract: A hydraulic fracturing system and method uses a model trained with external pressure gauge data and LFDAS sensor data to identify pressure communication events based on LFDAS sensor data. One or more monitoring wells are established in proximity to a well undergoing well stimulation, each monitoring well including one or more LFDAS sensors. LFDAS sensor data is received from the LFDAS sensors of the one or more monitoring wells, the received LFDAS sensor data including data received after start of a well stimulation operation. Occurrences of pressure communication events at each monitoring well may then be identified based on the model and on the received LFDAS sensor data.

  • Publication number: 20250250527
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for sealing an opening through the boundary of a controlled thermal and gaseous environment such as an incubator or refrigerator, where conduit channels of arbitrary size and number are transferred across the boundary. A silicone or polymeric tube with flanges at either end is passed through the boundary opening, fixing one side to the boundary wall and attaching the other to a mechanism that controls or constrains the rotation of the tube. This is achieved by rotating or twisting one end of the tube, creating a hyperboloid-like structure that will seal around the conduits and thereby seal the opening. To further improve thermal efficiency, insulating material such as expanded polystyrene beads are placed into the space between the silicone or polymeric tube and the wall of the incubator, providing thermal stability that cannot be achieved by conventional conduit transferring methods.

  • Patent number: 12380969
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for designing cement slurry compositions based on toughness. The method addresses the problem of achieving a cement slurry with a desired toughness by iteratively selecting a cementitious material and water, including their concentrations, to form a cement slurry recipe. A toughness model, utilizing physicochemical properties of the recipe components, calculates the toughness of the slurry. The calculated toughness is compared to a predetermined toughness requirement. If the requirement is not met, the selection process is repeated with different materials or concentrations until the toughness requirement is satisfied. The resulting cement slurry recipe is used to prepare a cement slurry suitable for applications requiring specific toughness characteristics such as in wellbore cementing.
