  • Patent number: 7990574
Abstract: A printing system includes a converter for replacing graphic elements of a color matched document (104). Conversion replaces original elements (2-4) with replacement elements (21-24, 40-42) having modified transparency attributes so that overprinting elements that overlap areas (10-15) appear as intended when subjected to color matching.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 20, 2007
Date of Patent: August 2, 2011
    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company
    Inventor: Glen Cairns
  • Publication number: 20090327873
Abstract: A system and method for robustly editing a page description language of a first format using a familiar page editor for editing page descriptions of a second format is described. Portions of the original page are delimited and the page is then converted to the second format where it can be edited natively and then converted back into the first format. Preserved delimiting information can be used in conjunction with stored reference information to repair problems caused by the processes of converting and editing.
    Type: Application

  • Patent number: 7599098
Abstract: A system and methods for color matching overprinted graphic documents is described. Graphic elements in a document are examined to determine overlapping regions. The overlapping graphic elements in each region are examined to determine which graphic elements contribute color to the region. If two or more graphic elements contribute color, the region is an overprint region and information about the contributing graphic elements is used to create an overprint graphic element having contributed color. The original graphic elements and the overprint graphic elements are saved in a modified document, which is then processed to adjust the color of each graphic element to produce expected color on a target device that will display the modified document.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: October 6, 2009
Assignee: Kodak Graphic Communications Canada Company
