Abstract: Disclosed is a wave powered electric generating device for generating electric power from wave-driven water body in a fast, easy, inexpensive, and efficient manner such that the set up has less configurational complexity, involves easy installation and maintainability. The wave powered electric generating device comprises: a plurality of buoyant members capable of floating in a wave-driven water body, wherein one of the buoyant members comprises at least one electric generator, and a transmission system; and interconnecting mechanism for connecting the buoyant members, wherein the transmission system is configured to convert a wave motion of the wave-driven water body to a rotary motion, the transmission system is capable of transmitting the rotary motion to the electric generator for producing electric power.

Abstract: A method of measuring the shape of a glass sheet is provided. The method includes positioning the glass sheet in contact with a fluid and measuring the distance between a sensor and a surface of the glass sheet at a plurality of locations on the surface thereof. The method may further include deconvolving the shape of the glass sheet into at least one simple shape element, such as cylindrical or spherical, and may further include varying the temperature profile of an array of heaters in a glass manufacturing process based on the at least one shape element.

Abstract: A pull roll assembly is described herein that is used to draw a glass sheet. The pull roll assembly includes a first roll assembly, a second roll assembly and a device (e.g., differential drive, sensor(s)). The device enables one to control the first and/or second roll assemblies based in part on pulling forces (e.g., glass contact normal force and/or required sheet pulling force) associated with a glass sheet while the glass sheet is being drawn between the first and second roll assemblies. A glass manufacturing system and method for using the pull roll assembly are also described herein.
