  • Patent number: 6206772
Abstract: A hand tool for holding a spinning disc while the circumference of the disc is being ground is noteworthy for its ability to accommodate disks of various thicknesses. The disc is gripped between two resilient grippers that rotate with the disc. The grippers are mounted for rotation to the jaws of the tool. The jaws slide open and closed on two spaced parallel guide pins that are parallel to the axes of rotation of the grippers. This assures that as the jaws are opened or closed to accommodate discs of different thicknesses, the axes of the grippers remain colinear.

  • Patent number: 5590213
Abstract: An adjustable headpad assembly is disclosed for use in a headset of the type having a resilient headband with a bridge portion configured to overlie a user's head and leg portions depending from the bridge portion to stirrups carrying earcups configured and dimensioned to enclose a user's ears. The adjustable headpad assembly includes slide members carried on and moveable along the leg portions, a cushioning element extending between the leg portions and connected at opposite ends to the slide members, and a latch unit. The latch unit is releasable to accommodate movement of the slide members along the leg portions to selected positions of adjustment, and is engageable to fix the slide members at the selected positions.

  • Patent number: 5481098
Abstract: A method and apparatus for increasing the speed of scanners reading multiple bar code symbologies by changing the order of priority in which the various symbologies are tested by the decoder. After a particular symbology has been read a given number of times in a row, its priority is increased. A particular symbology will continue to advance in priority the more often it is read until it becomes the highest priority symbology.

  • Patent number: 4812750
Abstract: The disclosed apparatus provides a universal wheeled cart for carrying electronic devices to be stress tested in a sealed environmental chamber in which the temperature is varied between high and low limits while the power to the electronic components is being turned on and off. The cart is configured to substantially fully occupy the insulated heated chamber which is provided with tracks for the wheels of the cart. In addition to a front access door for admitting the cart, the chamber is provided with a rear rectangular aperture through which a novel rectangular bustle mounted on the cart extends. The bustle support a plurality of connectors through which power is supplied to the electronic devices. Complementary power actuated electrical connectors are mounted in fixed relation to the rear aperture, and when actuated, all power connections to the electronic components are made through the bustle and standardized busses on the cart.
