  • Patent number: 4548150
Abstract: A quadrilateral is secured to horizontally extending and vertically spaced supports adjacent a water covered area. A support frame is secured to the quadrilateral in a downward, parallel relationship thereon and projects forwardly of the quadrilateral. A longitudinally extending elongated elastomer body bumper is removably secured on the support frame, and a stabbing guide is provided adjacent the lower end of the quadrilateral which includes a forward portion spaced laterally relative to the quadrilateral and which extends upwardly and outwardly therefrom to serve as a guide to receive and support the lower end of the support frame as it and the elongated elastomer body bumper thereon are lowered longitudinally of the quadrilateral in a water covered area to be positioned on and supported by the quadrilateral in the water covered area.

  • Patent number: 4478536
Abstract: Annular, hollow upper and lower members are secured to an upwardly extending supporting leg of an offshore structure to project therefrom in generally the same plane. Each of the members includes a cylinder with the upper and lower cylinders being axially aligned and projecting from an end of each of the members; each cylinder also has a smaller diameter than its respective member to provide an annular space therebetween and each cylinder has an end portion within its respective member. Yieldable material is molded in the annular space between each member and its cylinder and is provided with longitudinal recesses therein to accommodate movement of the cylinder relative to its respective member. A longitudinal stem is provided for securing to and extending between the upper and lower cylinders with a support thereon for supporting a cylindrical bumper on the stem for rotation relative thereto. Second yieldable material is molded between the cylindrical bumper and the stem.

  • Patent number: 4426174
Abstract: An annular hollow support telescopically receives an annular hollow body in which is molded a longitudinally extending cylinder embedded in a frangible mass. The support includes an annular flange to seat and position the hollow body so that the hollow body projects longitudinally of and from the support and a surface is associated with the support to position the support on a marine structure so that the support projects laterally from the marine structure. Jack means are connected between the support and the annular hollow body for assisting in removing the annular hollow body and supported cylinder relative to the support.

  • Patent number: 3995437
Abstract: A shock absorbing arrangement for marine structures includes an annular elongated hollow body with an elastomer body molded adjacent one end of the annular body, the elastomer body having a plurality of circumferentially spaced voids therein extending from one end of the body and terminating in spaced relation relative to the other end of the body. A cylinder is molded in the center of the body and has an open end facing in the same direction as the open end of the voids and a closed end adjacent but spaced from the other end of the elastomer body and the elastomer body is provided with an enlargement adjacent the closed cylinder end to serve as a shock absorber and bumper.

  • Patent number: 3937170
Abstract: A support frame is positioned on a structure in a water covered area and receives and supports an elongated elastomer body to function as a bumper guard to protect the structure and vessel when contact is made. The support frame and the elongated elastomer body are constructed and arranged so that the elongated elastomer body may be positioned in the support from above water level, and may be withdrawn and replaced when necessary from above water level. The support frame includes inwardly extending plates to engage the elongated elastomer body to position it on the support frame and the elongated elastomer body is constructed and arranged to absorb shock, protect the support frame, and includes one or more rigid reinforcing members to inhibit unwanted or accidental removal of the elongated member from the support frames.
