    Abstract: A potting process for a magnetic speed pickup including elements subject to substantial thermal expansion and contraction, wherein each step of the potting process is performed at an elevated temperature corresponding to the highest expected temperature for a given application. As a result, adequate spacing is provided between the various pickup elements to accommodate for thermal expansion and contraction of the elements when the pickup is used in a thermally variant environment.
