  • Publication number: 20060023027
Abstract: A method and apparatus for delivering solvent free marking material to a receiver is provided. A printhead includes a discharge device having an inlet and an outlet with a portion of the discharge device defining a delivery path. An actuating mechanism is moveably positioned along the delivery path. A material selection device has an inlet and an outlet with the outlet of the material selection device being connected in fluid communication to the inlet of the discharge device. The inlet of the material selection device is adapted to be connected to a pressurized source of a thermodynamically stable mixture of a fluid and a marking material, wherein the fluid is in a gaseous state at a location beyond the outlet of the discharge device.

  • Publication number: 20060013945
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for making a light emitting display is provided. The apparatus includes a discharge device with an inlet and an outlet with the portion of the discharge device defining a delivery path. An actuating mechanism is moveably positioned along the delivery path. A substrate retaining device is positioned spaced apart from the outlet of the discharge device in the delivery path. The inlet of the discharge device is adapted to be connected to a pressurized source of a thermodynamically stable mixture of a compressed fluid and one of a hole transporting material, a light emitting material, and an electron transporting material. The compressed fluid is in a gaseous state at a location beyond the outlet of the discharge device and prior to the substrate retaining device.

  • Publication number: 20050008424
Abstract: An article having multiple spectral deposits is provided. The article can include a support and a single nanomorphic marking material adapted to reflect light having a first spectral content and adapted to reflect light having a second spectral content. The article can include a support and a nanomorphic marking material held by the support that luminesces at a plurality of wavelengths. The article can include a support and marking material having a first particle size and a second particle size. The first particle size reflects a first spectrum and the second particle size reflects a second spectrum. The article can include a support and a marking material held by said support with the marking material including a nanocrystalline particulate having a measurable property non-characteristic of the same marking material in a bulk state.

  • Patent number: 5979865
Abstract: A rotary valve actuator for actuating a valve that must be rotated between an open position and a closed position. The valve is disposed in a tubular valve housing having an exterior surface with at least one actuating member receiving aperture. The rotary valve actuator includes a substantially annular body having an interior surface, an exterior surface and a central axis. A male actuator member is rotatably mounted within the body. The male actuator member has a valve coupling end that projects perpendicularly from the interior surface of the body, such that it can be inserted into the actuating member receiving aperture of the tubular valve housing. A hydraulic chamber is positioned in the body having a first inlet and a second inlet. A fluid responsive member is positioned in the one hydraulic chamber between the first inlet and the second inlet.

  • Patent number: 5642754
Abstract: A method of securing a valve seat member for a ball valve within a tubular housing. Firstly, provide an annular valve seat member and a tubular valve housing. The annular valve seat member has a first face, a second face, an interior surface and an exterior surface. One of the first face and the second face of the annular valve seat member has an arcuate valve seat. The tubular valve housing has an interior surface defining an interior bore. Secondly, position an annular groove in the interior surface of the annular valve seat member and an annular groove in the interior surface of the tubular valve housing. Thirdly, lock the annular valve seat member to the interior surface of the tubular valve housing with a split ring having an exterior surface with a first annular tongue that engage the annular groove of the annular valve seat member and a second annular tongue that engages the annular groove in the interior surface of the tubular valve housing.
