  • Patent number: 5125583
Abstract: A truck mounted particulate material applicator which entrains metered amounts of the particles in a fluid for conveying the material outwardly along tubes forming boom assemblies. The metering assembly and the booms are mounted in the mid portion of the truck wheel base for minimizing bouncing, and excess shock loads on the booms during travel, and also for providing a centrally located distribution point for the metering assembly. The present device includes a unique manifold for entraining particulate materials such as inorganic fertilizer or grains in fluid flow streams within tubes in which they form the boom assemblies. Each tube carries the metered air entrained material a different distance from the center to cover a wide path. Separate tubes are directed toward the rear of the truck to spread the material in the path of the truck.

  • Patent number: 4886208
Abstract: A liquid pesticide attachment for a granular material applicator for agricultural use which provides for injecting a metered amount of the liquid pesticide into an air stream containing a metered amount of granular material to be distributed, and having the material travel together to be deposited onto the ground. With any air distribution system for inorganic particulate material, a mixture of air and the particulate material is carried in a conduit, and a metering device is attached to provide for adding of the liquid material into the air-particulate material as it is being conveyed.

  • Patent number: 4592248
Abstract: A quick change gear box mounting kit for a gear box that provides for a drive from a ground drive wheel of an implement to a shaft, includes a mounting that permits the gear box to be selectively coupled in first and second positions wherein different shafts on the gear box comprise input shafts. As shown in one position the output shaft of the gear box provides a 1.5 to 1 reduction in gearing, and by rotating the gear box 90.degree. through the use of the quick couplings and a quick attach mounting of the kit, the gear box can be changed so that the input shaft and output shaft will provide a 1.5 to 1 overdrive between the shaft then used as the input shaft, and the output shaft. The gear box mounting is useful particularly in ground drive mechanisms for apparatus such as inorganic fertilizer spreaders.

  • Patent number: 4529215
Abstract: A hydraulic cylinder safety lock allows an operator of an implement controlled through the use of an extendable and retractable hydraulic cylinder to mechanically lock the cylinder in a transport position. The lock also is used to lock the cylinder during storage between seasons so that the implements being operated by such cylinder or cylinders will not tend to settle under loads.
