Abstract: The fishing pole having integrated weighing system measures the weight of a fish caught by the fishing rod. The fishing pole having integrated weighing system comprises the fishing rod, a strain measurement device, and a control system. The strain measurement device measures the curvature of the fishing rod. The strain measured by the strain measurement device is converted by the control system into an estimated weight of the fish caught by the fishing rod. The fishing pole having integrated weighing system is configured to work with an externally provided remote monitor. The control system sends the strain measurement device data to the remote monitor. The fishing pole having integrated weighing system further comprises a cuff. The cuff is a shell that protects the strain measurement device while allowing for the unhindered motion of the fishing rod.
