    Abstract: A combination air induced and heat circulating log grate having a heat transfer manifold mounted beneath the fuel retaining portion of an elevated grate. The manifold includes a header communicating with a plurality of apertured finger-like tubes through which air circulates. Perforated sleeves are arranged on the tubes for selectively blocking and unblocking the apertures of the tubes. The sleeves and apertured tubes form valves arranged for selectively inducing air into a fire associated with the grate.
