  • Patent number: 9046444
Abstract: To effectively suppress a shift of a rotating axis of an upper chuck with respect to a rotating axis of a lower chuck due to a separating force. A tire testing device (1) includes: vertical frames (30a, 30b) which are supported by a lower frame (20); a beam (40) which bridges between the vertical frames (30a, 30b) and is movable in the vertical direction; an upper chuck (45) which is attached to the center of the beam (40), the center corresponding to the center of the beam in the longitudinal direction; and a lower chuck (25) which is attached to the lower frame. When viewed from the vertical direction, a rotating axis of an upper rotating member (47) is positioned at the center of a straight line formed by connecting supporting points where each of the vertical frames (30a, 30b) support the beam (40).

  • Patent number: 8950250
Abstract: Provided is a loading device that is provided in a tire testing machine including a testing station (30) provided with a spindle (31) attached with a tire (50) to be tested and feeds the tire (50) from a predetermined standby position to a testing position where the center of the spindle matches the center of the tire (50) in the testing station (30). The loading device includes: conveyors (1, 2) that convey the tire (50) from the standby position toward the testing position in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the tire; and positioning devices (6B, 20) that position the tire to be tested to a position, in which a front end of the tire in the feeding direction matches a point separated from the spindle by a predetermined distance, as the standby position. Setting of the standby position based on the position of the front end of the tire (50) in the feeding direction shortens the feeding distance and the feeding time and hence shortens the testing cycle time.

  • Publication number: 20140309691
Abstract: The present invention relates at least in part to surgical devices which comprise a shape memory polymer material composition. Particularly, although not exclusively, the present invention relates to a fixation device e.g. an anchor device e.g. a suture anchor which comprises a shape memory material. Included in the present invention are anchor devices e.g. suture anchors which are formed entirely of a shape memory polymer material. Embodiments of the present invention comprise hybrid suture anchors, particularly suture anchors which are formed from a shape memory polymer material and a non-shape memory material. Methods of securing an anchor in a bone or tissue are also included in the present invention.

  • Patent number: 7841101
Abstract: A roofing installation device for enabling quick and accurate installation of shingle type roofing. The device includes a generally c-shaped inner portion and correspondingly c-shaped outer portion slidable relative to one another. The inner and outer portions include at least one spring there between in an expansion state such that manual compression allows a user to clamp the device onto a first shingle layer. An adjustable portion is affixed to the inner portion and includes a stop edge to allow placement of a second shingle layer in such a manner to form a predetermined surface exposure of the first shingle layer. The predetermined surface exposure is variable by moving the adjustable portion relative to the inner portion. Such adjustment is accomplished in a quick, manual manner.

  • Publication number: 20080111277
Abstract: An inventive solid state drawing die has shaping walls that define a shaping channel and that, in the course of solid state drawing, direct polymer composition along a drawing path. Each cross section of the drawing path (and, hence, polymer composition in the drawing path) is non-circular, substantially proportional to one another, contains a centroid that lies on a substantially straight line parallel to the drawing direction and all cross sectional dimensions are 1.5 millimeters or more.

  • Publication number: 20060012468
Abstract: A communication system for a vehicle traveling over a road surface is provided with at least one detector for sensing speed detection signals impinging on the vehicle, to monitor the speed of the vehicle or a nearby vehicle. A radiofrequency transmitter communicates the detector output to a receiver adjacent the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The receiver controls one or more annunciators to output one or more annunciator indications to the system user. The radiofrequency transmitter in one embodiment directs transmissions along a ground skip path, reflecting information over the road surface so as to enter the receiver located in or near a passenger compartment of the vehicle. A wireless control unit provides indication of system operating status and allows a user to input commands to the system.

  • Patent number: 4870858
Abstract: A tire testing machine has two spaced parallel diamond shaped support structures. On each support structure, a road wheel and two tire carriages are mounted. A motor is mounted on each support structure and drivably connected to the road wheel. Pistons and cylinders are mounted between the support structures and the carriages to drive the carriages toward and away from the road wheel to force the tire carried on the carriage against the road wheel.
